I wonder if there will be some progress or if the project is already finished. In that case I have to remove it from my applications although I like the layout.

However, there are too many rendering mistakes - especially if I overwite a list/table/tree renderer - everytime the Seaglass Look and Feel needs a special treatment. I miss a clear documentaiton and I have to look every time into the decompiled source code to find out the renderer mistakes.

Honestly, I’m afraid the project is dead. I simply don’t have time after my day job to work on it. I’m sorry to have to say it.

I’m aware of the various rendering problems, compatibility issues, etc.

I know. I know. I so wish I had the time. I suppose someone could fork it. Or take it over. -K

Hi,
I also think the project is kind of dead but if you try it you should use the
version from the svn repository. One year back or so I did a ton of bugfixes
but we never released a new version. There is also no need to decompile the
code as this is a open source project and the code can be downloaded from the
google code website. This should make things more easy to debug and
understand. There is also a project website that documents the usage.

But if you need something stable rock solid you should better choose a
different look and feel. Sorry for that.

I would be willing to integrate patches and bugfixes that I get but I will not
have the time to fix things by myself or provide support.

Have fun,
- Rossi

Such a shame that this project is not under development : it was a much needed face lift for Swing. I really liked it, but I'm running into rendering issues already, so I have to return to ugly old Nimbus. Well, good luck, and thanks for what you did contribute.

Sadly, I have to acknowledge that the project is dead. I am working a full time job and simply don’t have the time to continue. I am aware that it doesn’t really work on newer Java versions, and that it still had issues to be resolved for the versions that _were_ supported.

If anyone wants to take it over, I’m willing to turn it over. The domain is paid through February of next year, I think, but it might even be 2016.

Would it be possible for anyone to compile the latest development snapshot and offer binary-downloads? I'm not sure how to compile the source by myself...

I may be able to do that this weekend. -K

Hi all,

I've made some changes to Sea Glass to make it work with Java 8. This should fix the rendering problems mentioned below. See attachment for the patch.

Best regards,
Gerd

A downloadable binary / jar would be nice :-) Is this possible?

Thanks in advance
Daniel

Gerd, if I gave you commit privilege on the Google Code site, would you commit your changes?

I can try to make a real build and deploy to Maven Central. It’s been awhile…
