Hi,
I would say they should be aliged per components base line to the label of the button. That would be more or less center the progress bar.
Resizing it would make it really ugly and would colide with the component size variants and I beliefe there is no best practice rule that says a component itself must scale to any extend. This would be normally controled with the getMaxDimension() of the component but that is ignored by most layout managers and is not well defined in Swing.

To make it short. Center it but do not scale it.

Perhaps we should also check what Nimbus is doing in this case.

Have fun,
- Rossi

Thanks!

Nimbus resizes things, but it uses rectangular bars. I'd be open to having several client property values to set the sizes, but not more.

Ken, of course, will have the final word.

It should be vertically centered, but should not vertically resized. Providing 3 sizes via client properties as Kathryn suggests sounds good.
