This version should work with Java 6 and 7. There are some menu and toolbar color variations with OS X Lion which we will fix in the next week with a 0.2.1 release.

Hello Kathryn

Thats so great. After some time without progress we have now some nice release here.
I have just added to the seaglass-demo project an ant build file that can generate a Laffy base seaglass-demo.jar
When run it will generate the jar in the deploy folder. We should update the demo that is on the google code front page.
Currently that one is hosted on your private homepage.
I wonder if we should commit a demo jar to the seaglass-demo project then we could link it and update it easily with the ant file regularly.

I also commited a first draft of a jnlp file that I would then extend to provide a webstart demo once we have a jar in the repository.

What do you think?

Something else. The Laffy demo jar does not work on non us locales like german for example. Then all labels are displayed as "tags"
I think this is because Laffy is prepared to be translated but we do not ship any translations. The workaround is to start it with:

java -Duser.lang=en -Duser.region=GB -jar seaglass-demo.jar

We should document this on the front page.

Have fun,
- Rossi

Sure. That sort of killed it for me last time.

The seaglass-demo changes sound great! I'll see about getting it deployed.

I'm in favor of internationalization. But, being an American, I am a monophone.

Joke:
Q: What do you call someone who speaks two languages?
A: Bilingual.
Q: What do you call someone who speaks three languages?
A: Trilingual.
Q: What do you call someone who speaks one language?
A: American.

If people provide label files for other languages, we can include them. I know there are several German speaking users, so that's an obvious candidate for inclusion.

It is OK if the labels appear in English. The problem is the appear
like this: [[pt-BR]]

(portuguese-Brasil)

Hi,
I just crosschecked this. Laffy comes already with a lot of translation files (nearly 30 languages). They are all included in the jar under

org.jdesktop.laffy.resources

It seams that they are there but no real translations are in them. They all contain this funny content like [[pt-BR]]Undo[[pt-BR]].

So the Laffy team prepared this but never incorporated any real translations.

To solve this I would remove this dummy translation files and perhaps add a valid one for German as this is my mother tongue. Removing the dummy files will do the job because then it will fall back to the english version for all other languages.

In a later step we could then add some additional languages.

Have fun,
- Rossi
