Tuesday April 7th will be this year’s SEA Annual General Meeting (AGM), formally starting at 7:00 pm, and will be held at the University of Alberta. A room is still being confirmed but should be available soon and we will advise as soon as we are aware.
It is important that as many of you as possible attend as we are looking to brainstorm and discuss what direction SEA will be taking in the upcoming year. Please note only paying members will be permitted to vote in the general election or on any other business, however you are able to purchase a membership on the night.
We are giving away a signed copy of the book ''Deconverted'' by Seth Andrews (aka The Thinking Atheist) along with a coffee mug that matches, by prize draw on the night.
This draw is for current members (those who have purchased a membership in the last 4 months, have a 3 year renewing membership or lifetime membership). You may purchase your membership on the evening or prior to the AGM via our membership page on the website to also be entered into this draw.

We are changing a few things in the by-laws this year so please ensure you read through our proposed changes. The changes can be seen in red on page 6 on the attached file; 2015 02 14 SEA bylaws proposed
If you are at all interested in running for the Board, please take a look at our explanation of the roles and responsibilities for each position, as well as some FAQs about joining the Board. There are current Board members who will not be running again for election. You can email us to let us know that you’d like to run for a Board position (even if you will not be present at the meeting), ask another member to nominate you at the appropriate point during the meeting, or you may also self-nominate at the meeting.
Deadlines related to the AGM:
23 March – Receipt of proposed bylaw changes. If you would like to propose changes for consideration at the AGM, they must be sent to the Board for distribution to the rest of the membership.

Just a quick reminder that the AGM is tomorrow evening, we hope that many of you can make it out!

Parking around the University can be pricey, and public transit is probably your best bet. Less expensive parking can usually be found at the Faculty Club parking lot (the surface lot north of Windsor Car Park, 116 St), although it's a bit of a walk to CAB. We will be headed to Sherlock Holmes on campus afterwards and they do have a $5 flat rate too, but again, you'll have to walk to CAB.
Don't forget your toonie for the toonie tin, a donation for the foodbank and $20 if you need to renew your membership for the 2015 year allowing you to vote and/or run for the board.
