Folks,
I've put together a first draft call for participation, for a workshop
at the Onward 2009 Conference:
http://www.easterbrook.ca/steve/?p=660

Please take a look, add comments, and let me know if you want to be
included on the organising committee. I'm assuming some (many?) of you
won't make it physically to this workshop, but I don't think that
should prevent you being on the organising committee - We'll propose
another workshop like this for ICSE next year, and some continuity of
the organising committee will be important.

Hi Steve,

Nice call. I feel that it may be enhanced a bit by adding a more
intrinsical software-engineering part to the list of topics. At the
moment, the topics seem to be geared towards: "How can we use our
methods and strengths outside the main software engineering field?", and
this is a useful question to ask. However, I think there is an equally
important question about: "How can we change the way we develop software
and software-intensive systems to ensure that the results are
sustainable and have acceptable or possibly even positive environmental
impact?". Adding this question to the list of potential topics might
make for a broader scope, which may be quite useful especially when
starting to build such a community.

hth,

Steffen
