Hi Steve,
Just had a look at the papers: A very nice set indeed, with ideas and
projects in a number of different areas:
- Using Software Engineering to build more energy-efficient
software systems and infrastructure
- Briscoe et al. on Community clouds
- de Roo et al. on Optimising software system energy consumption
- Taina et al. on Green metrics
- Using computing or ideas from SE for decision support on
'real-world problems'
- Hawker on Modelling intermodal freight transport
- Parnin et al. on Refactoring infrastructure (one of the most
surprising ideas to me)
- Vallejos et al on People-centric sensing
- Using SE to improve climate-change research
- Woolard et al. on Enabling access to climate data
- van Wyk et al. on Language concepts for developing
climate-research software
- Using computing education to improve awareness
- Jamba on Education with a cause
and, finally, a nice overview of interesting challenges by Liu et al.
Very nice set indeed. I strongly recommend the quick read to everybody
on the list!
I wish you a good workshop in Orlando,
Steffen
