Converting Selenium IDE to Builder

Hi, 

According to the getting started page in github: 

"Since Selenium Builder's native format is Selenese, it can import scripts that were created with either Selenium Builder, Selenium IDE or Selenium IDE. To load a script created by any of these, click the Open a test file link on the main Selenium Builder screen."

However, when I tried to open my test suite the builder didn't do anything. When I tried to open a test case I was presented with the following error:

Unable to read file, sorry.
Selenium 1: TypeError: script is null
Selenium 1: Could not open suite
Selenium 2: SyntaxErorr: JSON.parse: unexpected character
Selenium 2 Suite: Could not open suite

I would like to convert to Builder but I have many IDE scripts which could make it difficult to change tools.

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi,

I encountered the same erorr message.

I can read selenium IDE HTML test case by Selenium Builder 2.0.10,

but Selenium Builder 2.1.1 raises the error message when opening the same test case HTML file..

Hi all,

I believe I've figured out the underlying problem, which is in Firefox 26: https://github.com/sebuilder/se-builder/issues/110

I'm figuring out how to fix this now and will issue a patch as soon as possible.

Having the same problem here.

I was able to downgrade to Firefox 25 and at least get a bit further so that I could take a look at Selenium Builder.

Hi,

1. Downloaded Selenium Builder.
2. Click on "open a script or suite" button.

This is not responding at all. I am using Firefox version 41.0.1.

Dear Hema,

I'm afraid that Builder isn't compatible with Firefox v41. Have you tried downgrading to v39 and trying that? We're currently working on getting a new version released that is compatible: https://github.com/SeleniumBuilder/selenium-builder But we're waiting for Mozilla to verify and sign the new plugin.

Hello,

I'm currently trying Selenium Builder. I've built around 20 tests on Selenium IDE so I would like to import them, but it doesn't work; Selenium Builder tells it doesn't recognize the "store" command. How could I may it work?

In general, I wonder if it's worth switching from Selenium IDE to Selenium Builder...

And builder does not open test suit from seleniumide((

it seem i have same problem with firefox 54.0 (open a selenium scenario or selenium test case has no effect)
Does these issue might be solved in the future ?
I read in other forums that selenium-IDE was no more maintained (because of XUL deprecation on firefox https://github.com/SeleniumHQ/selenium/issues/3139)
Does Se-builder has same issue ?
