Yes Kobus, it is true.  I live in the Shenandoah Valley and worked with Erich frequently.  He is the one who got me started, and since I teach, he also helped a number of my students get started on biochar.  So I owed him a big debt, which I partly repaid by supplying biochar for his gardening work.  He is missed in the valley and across the biochar community.

What bad news on Erich. He and I did not always agree but by in large we did. He was always such a positive force in the community especially his intense work and passion on biochar (along with everything else) and promoting it. He and his frequent commentary will be sorely missed.
