Here's what was discussed at our TR meeting:

Practices starting in April and will run on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.  The idea is to create a regular schedule but one that isn't too daunting.  

SDYC Team Race:

We are hosting our first TR invite at SDYC on May 14-15.  We will be looking for one team, possibly two and need to get these teams figured out.  The regatta will be sailed in the North Bay in the Club's J/22s.  It's a 6 team event and we're going to make it a great time.

Get a Facebook group going to supplement this email list.

Revamp the SDYC Team Race Goup website:

Add the schedule practice and anticipated regatta schedule

Add info/links for team racing basics

Add contact info for getting on the list and reaching key people

Add links so people can indicate interest in different regattas

We're going to attempt to reach out to a broader audience.

Get a table with some info at Opening Day.

Other regatta info:

St. Francis Team Race is not happening this year.  It will happen next year and become an every other year event.

Balboa Team Race is in limbo for this year.  Our guess is that with BYC trying to sell their old boats and keep the new ones pristine for the actual Gov Cup, they don't want to risk either fleet getting banged up in a TR regatta.

The typical SDYC Regatta schedule is (all hinge on receiving an invite, less our own):

Balboa TR - typically late Feb.

Baldwin - Early April

SDYC TR - Mid May

St. Francis TR - typically late June

Morgan Cup - Early August

Other regattas out there:

Jackson Cup @ Boston YC - mid to late April

Soiland Cup @Southern YC - Nov 6-8

Hinman Masters - August

Masters Team Race Circuit - various events around the country

I'm sure there are some others out there.

Who is running the regatta on the 14th? I've got some ideas I'd love to float for the land side.
