It's been a long time since we had a meeting. Sorry about that—we really
dropped the ball. But in early August, SD Ruby and Django SD are having
a joint meeting. Both groups are pretty focused on web app design and
development, and so the meeting is a great opportunity for web standards
advocates to show San Diego's web developers how it's done.
Anyone can give a talk; we're aiming to have about 6 or 8 short, 10
minute talks. Some ideas for topics: HTML5, jQuery, CSS3, web fonts,
microformats, you name it.
The meeting will be on Thurdsay, 6 August, from 7:30 to 9:30, in the
UCSD CSE Building. If you're not familiar with UCSD campus, it can be a
little tricky to figure out where to park and which building the meeting
is in. The SD Ruby guys have a handy Google Map that (hopefully) makes
it all clear:
If you have an idea for a talk, please respond to this thread, or on
either other group's mailing list--that way, we can try to avoid
overlap, or even trigger some cross-group collaboration on similar
topics.
