Board Member Description posted on Google Drive for Review

Thanks to Heather's help, a copy of a board member description DRAFT has been posted on Google Drive.   It is somewhat of a combination of what Jessica had drafted and the specificity of the CNE document, which we seemed to like.

Heather has kindly placed a notation on the document itself regarding how to make comments.  You can also directly edit the document itself, and please feel free to do so.  After we all review and edit and review again, hopefully we will have it in some state of consensus so we can proceed with a vote next month.  Discussion questions should be posted here so we can discuss and make needed changes, to the degree possible, prior to the meeting.  We can certainly make some final changes during the meeting, but the hope was we could save time with most of the nitty-gritty before hand.

I reviewed the board job description and noted the desire to have email addresses created for boardpresident@, secretary@, and treasurer@. 

I will create those and send instructions on how to access via webmail (our hosting service uses a program called Squirrel Mail). 

The person filling that role will then be able to access the email from any place with an internet connection.

I'm also going to upload the documents requested at the last board meeting: BOD Welcome Packet, Corporate Sponsor packet pull sheets, vest insert, FAQs and the volunteer manual. I'm still learning how to use all of the myriad Google tools (groups, drive, docs, ad infinitum....), so please bear with me.

I've spent a couple hours editing the document for review by the board.  Please do give it a close read prior to our meeting on Monday.  You can insert comments, reply to existing comments, or make direct edits.

Go to http://drive.google.com

In the left hand side, click on the arrow to the left of My Drive to expand the list or Shared With Me

Look for the folder Service Dogs of Virginia, click on the arrow to the left of the folder name to expand the list.

Click on Board Member Recruitment

Click on the file which is named: Service Dogs of Virginia Governance Board of Directors

I'm envisioning that we'll need a shorter version for some of the places where we want to post the opportunity.  The shorter version should point back to the full-length version which should be posted on our website (new page under the Volunteer heading).
