Hi folks,

In thinking about the officer inquiry that was posted earlier, I thought it would be helpful for me to get a handle on what the Center for Nonprofit Excellence offers.  I found a lot of great stuff, none of which immediately answered my initial question about officer roles & responsibilities, though.

Board Orientation Workshop - not currently scheduled
This looks like an invaluable opportunity.  http://thecne.org/education/board-orientation-workshop

Board Development Academy
Wow! This would be fabulous for us.  This year's academy is already underway, unfortunately.  Applications are accepted each year from October 1-November 30.  It's super expensive - I imagine we'd need to ask board members (and/or their employers) to contribute at least some if not all of the cost.  http://thecne.org/academy

Leaders Circles
Peggy, this could be a great resource for you!  They're taking names for the waiting list, so probably worth adding your name now if you're interested.  http://thecne.org/education/leaders-circles

Sustainability Planning for Small Nonprofits, March 1st, 9-4p
This topic looks really good, but registration has closed.  Peggy, any chance you're already registered and one or more of us could tag along with you?  https://thecne.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=59

Making the Ask: A Guide to Fearless Fundraising for Nonprofit Boards and Staff, March 22nd, 8:30-4:30p
This topic looks really helpful for board & staff alike.  Registration deadline is Feb 22nd.  Tick tock!  Sadly for me, I'm going to be out of town.  https://thecne.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=63

Making the Most of Board Meetings, May 8th, 9-11a
Here's another good one that could be worthwhile for all of us.  I'd like to attend.  Anyone else interested?  https://thecne.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=62

There are other upcoming topics that pertain to fundraising which could be really worthwhile too.

I hope this info is worthwhile.  If you're interested in attending any of the sessions, please bring it up at Monday's meeting.

Cheers,
Heather

I have attended many of these in the past. I have currently applied to attend the Sustainability Planning class but haven’t heard back from CNE.

I think we have to establish our permanent board before sending folks to any of these. Of course, if anyone wants to attend on their own, that is fabulous.

derway, unfortunately.  Applications are accepted each year from October 1-November 30.  It's super expensive - I imagine we'd need to ask board members (and/or their employers) to contribute at least some if not all of the cost.  http://thecne.org/academy
