How to Talk with Teens About Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARCs)

The American Academy of Pediatrics recently joined the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in recommending that long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) be the first choice for adolescent patients. However, many teens are not familiar with these safe and effective methods and some health care providers mistakenly believe that LARCs are not appropriate for adolescents and young women who have not given birth.

This webinar will provide an overview on strategies for expanding LARC utilization among teens and best practices for integrating information about sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention when counseling teens about LARCs.

ACA Implementation Year Two: Ready? Set? Action!

Many of the major Affordable Care Act (ACA) provisions were implemented in 2014 with the goal of making health care more available, reliable and affordable. While health care becomes more accessible to millions nationwide, health care business practices are shifting, and ensuring viability requires both a strategic approach and a vision of the future. The second year of ACA implementation and open enrollment is in full swing. Reflecting on lessons learned to date, assessing market standing and reviewing current infrastructure is vital for sustainability going forward.

This webinar will explore where we are now and address where we go from here by examining experiences from the field, challenges and successes in contracting, and key strategies to reach new patients.
