I've also put some of the best links I've found at:
http://groups.google.com/group/sdtjpcg/web/links
--We should definitely write up a faq to find one's watershed--- as
well as to discuss how/who names them in the first place.
If you search for "pueblo watershed" you'll find the links to the rest
of the sd area watersheds. . .
The rest can be done with some place-based knowledge:
I knew baja canyon went to the sd river. . . I knew Zena went to the sd bay. . .
I figure el cajon blvd runs along the ridgeline. . .
and University ave drains to sd bay . . . So, I guess: pueblo watershed. . .
As below-- Rob Hutsel of the sd river conservancy has the gis to make
accurate watershed determinations by address. . . probably an address/
watershed overlay . .
The links I mention have some good web gis programs--
And google earth has elevations. . .
So, use the mess below, document your process, and what you find to
work best, and between the two of us we can write a faq. . .
I imagine the san diego watersheds link should do it for you though. . .
You're probably either san diego river or sweetwater. . .
Very cool. . . I actually think the self-identification (in my tag) is
hugely enormously expressive-- a seed nucleus holding so much,
pointers to an encompassing worldview/philosophy-- leaving the
statists, anti-immigrants, and everyone else scratching their heads
and saying, "hey!. . . " . . . "I want to self-identify that way too.
. . and stop being defined/attention-sucked by the politicians. . ."
As mentioned earlier, there are limits to ignoring the political
aspects of our existence though. . . and I'm not sure to what extent
political boundaries should be recognized or ignored. Maybe the
political designations (state, county, city, nation-state) can be left
to fade. . . as they prove themselves more and more dysfunctional and
irrelevant. . .

Eric,
thanks.
Rob mentioned he was getting a paper copy from the sierra club of a
detailed map with canyon names--it sounds more detailed than the one
you have on the web. I should ask him about that one.
I'm the one that has it… but I don't have digital for it yet… just
hard copy. It's big.
Don't worry about the digital copy-- I was thinking more of having a
paper one like Rob mentioned for displaying at various meetings and
gatherings.
I'll see what he has to say. (Or let me know if you can help me get
the paper maps!)

Hi Colin,
Yes, I'm the person to ask.
Zena is in Pueblo... no question. I have a hard copy of the watershed map
that our web master created.
I have the map with the canyon names. Would you like to help me get a
digital copy of it? It might not be too easy and depending on the cost,
I'll cover it, but it will require a little bit of running around. Are you
game to help out a bit?

Eric,
I haven't figured it out yet-- Rob Hutsel says he has the tools to
figure out the watersheds-- (nor is that internet gis server at sdsu
working for me)
I'm guessing El Cajon blvd is more or less the dividing line between
Pueblo and SD River watersheds.
(1) Can I get a copy of that sierra club watershed map?
(2) Rob said there was also a map with detailed canyon names--I'd
really like a copy of that.
Are you the person to ask about this, or should I work with Rob?
Or let me know if google earth has a watershed overlay feature--I've
managed to get that to work.
Thank you!
