Good morning,

My name is Claire Norberg and I work with Donna Daly in the Health and Human Services Dean's Office. I am writing today to provide information on Explore SDSU 2014. The event will be held Saturday, March 15 from 9AM until 2PM.

Check-In
Although the event starts at 9AM, tables must be set-up by 8:30AM, so please check-in with me no later than 8AM. The check-in table will be located at the HHS College Council table in the Health Village, located directly in front of the Hepner Hall bell tower. Tables will need to be staffed for the duration of the event, until 2PM, but you may split staffing shifts between club members. Each club will have one table and two chairs and clusters of three tables will be beneath a canopy. Please see the attached Village Diagram for the specific locations of tables within the village. I have grouped tables together by school, but if you would like to be next to a certain club, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your request. Table covers and signs will be provided.

While attendance is expected, if for some reason you cannot participate, please let me know as soon as possible.

Table Competition
As usual, there will be a $100 prize given to the table that best incorporates the the themes of global philanthropy and the college's motto, "Think Globally, Act Locally."  Tables will also be scored on creativity, relevancy, and appropriate use of props/materials. I have attached the rubric. Good luck!

Miscellaneous
Regular parking rules will not be enforced so you are free to park in any of the structures, including in Faculty/Staff areas (do NOT park in SP permit areas, though). East Commons will stay open during the event, and all bathrooms will be unlocked. Do your best to ensure that someone is staffing your table at all times. Please make sure to check the weather and dress appropriately. The event will take place rain or shine! Also, it may be breezy, so if you plan on having paper materials, make sure to bring paperweight or something to weigh your materials down.

I was under the impression wee could table for only part of the time. I have tobe at USD from 8-2. Is anyone else available in the morning?

Also, we have to brainstorm ideas for our table! Sorry I didn't realize this was soo involved lol but im sure we can pull it together it sounds fun! I'm just sad I cent make it

Hey guys, I opened up the event from 8am, but we need people to man it the whole time. Members can do it without us, but if possible, is someone available for set up??

Also, can we brainstorm table decorating ideas on this thread?

I am not exactly sure when I will be free that day since USDs work schedule isn’t out then but I will sign up for whenever I can be there. 

In terms of the table decorating, this could be a fun and creative opportunity to maybe extend to our members, post it on our social media and see if anyone has some great ideas? Just keep in mind that we have a budget and although we could win money, it isn’t guaranteed.

Unfortunately I'm going to be out of town for a fundraiser on the day of explore SDSU so I won't be able to e there :/

Explore SDSU is right around the corner, so lets get this on the google doc as well. Not to mention we really need to start talking about our decorations so we can get those settled without killing our budget.
