First Mtg of National Working Committee, Sun 10PM EST

Hi everyone,

You may have heard that at last month's National Convention, a national structure was passed creating a National Working Committee with representatives from regions, caucuses and working groups. The Working Committee will have their first conference call on Sunday, August 10th at 10pm EST.

All SDS members are welcome to participate by speaking on committee conference calls, but only committee reps may cast votes. The purpose of this first call is to establish what work needs to be done to follow up with the decisions made at the convention. Since this is the first call, it's going to be primarily for orienting committee members and not making decisions. A list of all the (interim) committee reps and their roles and contact info is included at the bottom of this e-mail.

Agenda:

1. Intros: name, chapter, role, why you joined the committee
2. Go-around: Goals for the National Working Committee
   
3. Implementing our structure: finalizing the proposal language, how will we use our listserv, website, wiki, etc. ?
   
4. Ratification: How do we want to start this work?
5. (If we have time) Discuss: what to do with other Structure Proposals/Amendments we didn't have time for at the Convention
6. Review Next Steps (and who is doing them)
   
7. Choose next call time and facilitator!
