Hello friends,
As many of you may already know, on September 24th, the homes and offices of activists in Minneapolis and Chicago were raided by the FBI and 14 people were given subpoenas to appear before a Grand Jury. They initially invoked their 5th Amendment rights and refused to appear, but 3 of the subpoenas were reinstated. To show support for these brave activists who may be facing jail time for refusing to talk, the Committee to Stop FBI Repression is calling for a week of action across the country. Over a dozen cities across the country are taking part, and we want to add Tuscaloosa to the list. We apologize for the short notice, but hope that you'll participate with us in an emergency demo.
WHEN: Thursday, December 2nd @ 5pm
WHERE: Federal Building, 1118 Greensboro Ave.
The peaceful demo will last approximately 20-30 minutes. Some signs will be provided but it would be fine to bring your own.
FORWARD WIDELY
In addition, there is an online petition and form where solidarity statements can be sent. Every bit of support helps these activists keep their heads up and shows the FBI that we will not stand for the new McCarthyism!
