I am getting this error quite often in the messages tab, its typically followed by a number, the number often varies, but typically its 9600.

I am trying to listen to a DMR system.

I saw someone recently had this issue, but nothing came of that thread, but to answer the first possible question, the tuner is a nooelec, and its set to auto-adjust ppm

In the tuners tab, where auto adjust is set, what is the measured error?  And what's your gain and signal look like?

I turned the gain down slightly because I am close to the transmitter.
