I am getting no audio at all. Control and active calls showing up but no audio coming out the speakers. No info is show up on the  left and right audio bar when a call is coming in all i get is - - - - -.  I have looked at my audio setting on computer, I have complete deleted and reset up sdtrunk from scratch. I have even reinstalled the drivers for the rtl-sdr with no luck.
now playing: shows my control and active calls, details: shows the info from the control, events: has my cascade of calls and activity, messages: show no errors, jmbe library is download and good to go. But still no audio . Any clues?

here is the sdrtrunk.bat info:

I wonder if the groups you are trying to monitor are encrypted.

What system/site are you trying to decode, and which talkgroups specifically? Are you certain the talkgroups are not encrypted?

Yes I do get tones when I click on those buttons. It worked perfectly fine the last time I used sdrtrunk. I've gone thru everything I can think of to try to get it working again. It functions like it did last time the calls show up as being received with duration and so on. The log area shows all the call that have taken place. But the bar for the audio for left and right that you can mute or select volume levels and so on shows nothing when a call is coming in. When before it would display my aliases for that call. I've downloaded that one file for decoding. I'm trying to listen to police scanner freqs for sedgwick County Wichita ks. Not had this problem before and everything is exactly the same as it was before the problem.

I was listening to all of these frequencies and such no more than a week or two ago with no problems. Now it does not work. I've tried everything even deleting and starting from scratch. Except for my backup file that has my frequencies and my aliases.

Could this be a windows update killing off some sort of functionality. I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the Rtl-sdr v3 im using just in case didn't help.

I can answer a few of the questions without being in front of my computer. Control channel yellow (yes). Any of the received channel in pink (no). Speakers green I believe so but I will check tomorrow. I do have sound listening to other things. When I go into settings within sdrtrunk so I hear sounds if it's a test sound button (yes). Are the aliases I have set to listen (yes).

At this point if this all true its time to start with something basic... a CLEAN EMPTY PLAYLIST

Go to the playlist editor CREATE A NEW ONE.  Do NOT CLONE, or DUPLICATE, NEW LIST.

Enter ONLY A VALID ACTIVE CONTROL CHANNEL for your system. Thats its. NOTHING MORE. No aliases, do NOT TIE IT TO ANY ALIAS LISTS OR ANYTHING. Just a control channel. Thats it.

Start the control channel and do you get audio from the groups in your system???

With this control channel active in the message tab, do you see a STEADY STREAM of data. with NO CRC FAIL or SYNC LOSS messages?

When you get an active channel, clicking on the channel with messages tab selected do you get a stream of data with NO CRC FAIL messages???

If you are getting CRC FAIL's in there you will either get garbled audio, or NO AUDIO if there is enough. you possibly will also see "FADE" in grey on the channels menu.

Compared to the PRIOR WORKING SETUP did you change anything??? SDR(s)? Antennas, Location of antennas, any of the setup????

My works network went down and got sent home early. I get home and startup sdrtrunk and it is working now. Go figure....  My guess is maybe they where using a secondary control channel that was not visible with the amount of spectrum rtl-sdr is able to show. But I believe i have entered all the different frequencies they use. Can i enter more that one control channel? Some investigation is in order.

YES you can have more than one , Motorola uses 4, Primary, and 3 backups, Harris/L3 can USE ANY CHANNEL, this is their modification they brought over from EDACS.. and I have a H/L3 system which does just that... its annoying to say the least, which is the intent. There is some RF basics on why to do this, but thats not relevant here or why L3/H does what they do.

In the play list setup the Channel as a MULTIPLE CONTROL CHANNEL, and then from the DETAILS tab with the CONTROL CHANNEL SELECTED, enter each of the channels listed as Control Channels. When SDRT looses sync on one it will attempt to move to the next...

For my system I keep the MAIN, and FIRST ALTERNATE active in TWO DIFFERENT channels, I do NOT USE the auto rotation mode. I have my personal reasons. I prefer this method...

As a practical matter, modern P25 systems rarely change control channels. I guess Mother Motorola wants to sell more final amplifiers?

How do you reach that conclusion?

My 12 subsite simulcast ASTRO 25 system has been on the air since September of 2012, and the control channel has been dead keyed on Ch 1 for at least 86,320 of the 86,328 hours that has elapsed since that time. Those missing 8 hours are accounted for by way of control channel rolls due to system maintenance, illegal carriers, or other incidental crap having nothing to do with the repeaters themselves. Not a single GTR 8000 PA failure on Ch 1 at any of the 12 subsites in those 9 years, 10 months, and 7 days.

Perhaps your comment should've more accurately been: "I guess Mother Motorola is confident enough in their G Series equipment that they no longer feel the need to have a system periodically roll control channels."

REAL LIFE experience. Thats how. The experiences of the past year on EXACTLY FINAL AMP FAILURES on the CC from 24/7/365. I could go on about these failures on MY 7 county 18 site P25 PI system from Motorola. Its not relevant here.

Motorola may not, and MY system doesn't ,  a neighboring system from H/L3 DOES change CC's frequently and BY CONFIGURATION.  Hence why I keep the MAIN CC setup and the secondary on standby for any failure. I plan for failures, whether they may or may not occur.  I've had several PA failures for the CC in the past year.

A neighboring H/L3 system will change CC's quite regularly, but for various reasons I do not keep a standby on for its. its a complicated situation with it, ON MY END.  Its actually quite common for most H/L3 systems to rotate. Its one of the reasons that Multi CC is in there.

Our statewide Moto P25P2 system uses two control channels per site, which is unusual.

On radio reference's website it list all the channels for my county as control channels so i guess anyone of them could be used as the control. What is odd is all of them are entered into sdrtrunk. Maybe there is one they where using that is not listed and that is why it was not working... who knows.

You have the best source of info on the system, the CONTROL CHANNEL.

SDRT will tell you what the control channels are. Once you have an ACTIVE CONTROL CHANNEL, running switch to the DETAILS TAB and look at the info.. it may be empty the first, hit refresh, and it will display...all the potential CC are listed there.

This example is a H/L3 system, so every channel they have is listed in there as a possible CC, as thats an option for H/L3.

Most Motorola systems list 4 total, 1 primary and 3 backup.

. What is odd is all of them are entered into sdrtrunk

How are they entered? That makes a difference. The radios are programmed via their software to know the control channels, and some other data. They know where to go look for them.. SDRT has to have that same sort of "programming" . When you program a channel in the source area, you CAN ADD MULTIPLE FREQUENCIES, that will trigger the "control channel rotation" portion of SDRT.

If you have each channel entered as SEPARATE CHANNELS. Then you would have to have all of the ACTIVE, by hitting play on the playlist to rotate through them.  Like I posted, I do this with the primary and first secondary for my system. The delay in rotation is too much for my taste

Look at the data in the CC Details, setup your playlist with those frequencies programmed in. If they rotate the channel for some reason, SDRT will rotate after about 0.5 seconds..

. Maybe there is one they where using that is not listed and that is why it was not working... who knows.

You can get the ACTUAL LICENSE data from the ISSUING AGENCY, the FCC, via the FCC ULS site.

https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchAdvanced.jsp

Put your operating agency into the licensee name, select state, and search.. You can narrow it down to specific radio services like YE and SY for trunked systems... This will give lots of data to sift through. Its not that big deal, its actually good to learn to sift through this data, so you get an understanding of how things are setup, how things work. It makes working with SDRT and OP25 100x easier.

Our statewide Moto P25P2 system uses two control channels per site, which is unusual.

Not really, state wide system.. There is a reason for it.. Compare what you hear on each CC.. It will be different.

I was referring to the number of control channels on Moto system sites not always being 4; it is sometimes 2 as in our case.  The majority of Moto statewide systems use 4 control channels per site, meaning it has nothing to do with being a wide area / statewide system.  Reading this thread, I am not convinced you are always understanding what is being said.
