Hello all,

Thank you very much for the software, I really appreciate it.

I am trying to use sdrtrunk to listen to a single analog, unencrypted, talkgroup on this list:

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=201&opt=all_tg#tgs

If I understand correctly, sdrtrunk doesn't support "Motorola Type II SmartZone" trunks yet?  If it does, I would be happy to be wrong.  If not, who do I have to bribe/pay to get support for that?  Beer/bitcoin/cash?

I am on Linux, and as far as I can tell, sdrtrunk is as close as it gets to being able to listen to "Motorola Type II SmartZone" trunks there.  But if there are other options I am all ears.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You are correct that Motorola Type II systems are not currently
supported by sdrtrunk. As of the last time I looked, support for these
systems is in the developer's roadmap for a future version and I too
am greatly looking forward to being able to monitor such systems with
sdrtrunk.

Cheers,

I am only slightly joking on the bribes.  Is there a bounty?  I would gladly kick in some cash to make this happen.

I listen to a Mot type 2 system. On our system, there are 4 freqs that usually carry p25. I entered them into sdrtrunk, and I am able to monitor the digital comms that take place. Not sure if the talk groups you were interested in are digital, but if they are, you should be able to hear those..

Are you sure we are not confusing Type II with P25 Phase II?

The system he is asking about is ,System Type Motorola Type II SmartZone,  System Voice Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface

The system that I monitor is the same type, System Type Motorola Type II SmartZone,  System Voice Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface

I monitor the P25 Phase 1 talk groups using Sdrtrunk.

Not sure where phase 2 came from..

It came from the statement that "Type II" is not supported by Unitrunker.  It is, whether the talkgroups are analog or P25 digital.  It also supports P25 Phase I trunking, but not P25 Phase II trunking.

Motorola Type II systems are definitely supported by Unitrunker; I've
used it to listen to them in the past. I just thought these systems
weren't supported by sdrtrunk (yet). If they are, I definitely need to
go and have another look at setting that up.

Cheers,

Mot type 2 systems are not supported, however, in my case, with the system type mentioned above, if you enter the freqs that carry P25, and set the decoder to P25, you can listen to them. No trunking,

OK, I was the confused one.  The only groups I follow at the moment on Google are sdrtrunk and Unitrunker.  I forgot which one I was in.
