Hey everyone, any thoughts on what I could be missing?

I am trying to use a RSP1 on Linux but SDRtrunk is not recognizing it on Linux. I can see it when I return lsusb but SDRtrunk is not seeing it. I have latest SDRolay api and SDRtrunk beta installed.

On Windows the RSP1  works fine on SDRtrunk  after api install. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
David

Make sure the api service is running.  Try restarting the service if it's currently running.

I accidentally replied to author instead of the reply to all so I am sending it again.

I checked and it was running. I restarted the computer a couple of times, then shut it down for the night. Just got it back up and it is now working.

However, I am now running into a sync loss issue. I am coming from a Nooelec NESDR Smart v4 that worked fine with current settings. With the RSP1, I have the AGC enabled and have tried all the different gain options. I get sync loss 98 percent of the time and an occasional call. Not sure what the issue is.

A weird behavior I noticed is that when I have spectrum View running, the tuner settings page is all good. But as soon as I disable it, it begins to throw an overload error. Even with AGC on and gain all the way down. Not sure what causing that behavior.

Any insight is appreciated!

The SDRPlay tuners run best with AGC turned on and the gain level set to the maximum value.  If you get overflow, back off the gain one or two notches.

This is completely different than the way gain is managed for all other tuners supported by sdrtrunk.

No luck. I have tried every combination of AGC on, off, and in between with gain from 0-28 and back. No changes in sync loss. Here is what the spectrum looks like:

It's more helpful if you post complete screenshots so that we can better understand how you're using the software.  How many tuners are you running?  This tuner spectrum that you've screenshot shows the spectrum jumping around as if there's a second tuner decoding a control channel and causing this displayed tuner to chase traffic channels.

It doesn't appear (from this partial screenshot) that you have any strong enough signals at the 2x frequencies that you're trying to decode.  Moreover, I don't see the channel banners at these two frequencies showing in the spectral display that you posted, leading me to wonder if you're using 2x tuners and these 2x P25 channels are being sourced by the other tuner?

Gotcha. Here are some more screenshots that show the full program and signal strengths at various AGCs and gains. Only 1 tuner is connected. I had a Nooelec NESDR Smart v4 that works fine with the current channels and config, but it is disconnected.

Your s/n ratio is not good.  I don't see a usable control channel signal at 853.350, and an intermittent signal at 853.450.  It also appears that signal is is regularly lost across the spectrum.  Is there any other Linux software that supports RSP1 that you can test to rule out bad RSP1 driver libraries?
