I am attempting to get up and running with a P25-1 system (VIPER in NC).
I am using 2 dongles, 1 Nooelect and one RTL-SDR.
I have them plugged in and somewhat working. The issue is, the Tuner config options are greyed out so I can't adjust Gain, Sample Rate or the PPM. I have scanning off but still can't use this feature. Any suggestions?

In the tuners tab, did you click on the tuner you want to try adjusting?  And is the tuner in use as in playing?

Yes, I clicked on the specific tuner and it was not playing at the time. I also noticed that it only acts that way when I have both dongles connected. It works fine with only one.

You likely are trying to use two dongles with the same serial number. They need to have unique serial numbers. On the "tuners" tab, look under the "ID" heading to verify.

How do I change the SN?

I run 3 Nooelec all with the same serial numbers and have never had a problem nor I have never changed any of them as seen. I am running 2 right now and can change everything while running except the sample rate.  If I stop the dongle, and it says unlocked, I can then change the sample rate

Good to know. Interesting. I've read a hundred times in forums such as this that the serial numbers needed to be unique.  Also, I have read in this forum here that not all Nooelec tuners are supported ? I don't own that type so I can't vouch for the accuracy of that statement. Denny posted once that some of the Nooelec chips were not compatible with his software. But ???

The software author, Denny, wrote this a while back but sounds like YMMV............

Mike,
Definitely track pursue getting the serial numbers changed.  sdrtrunk can't distinguish between the dongles when they have the same serial number, specifically for gain and PPM adjustments.
