I rolled back on that one as well. 2 dongles doing 3 systems. Beta 7, 0.5.0 final and 0.5.1 beta both do the same thing. 1 system keeps on decoding/recording and the other 2 just stop. Show as decoding but will not record. Beta 6 runs the same set up for days on end without any trouble. I am going to try to get one dongle on another usb bus and see if it makes a difference.

Over the past week, I've tried four different FlightAware Orange dongles and two new generic TCXO SDR sticks. The app crashes/closes within 4 hours with no error messages logged. I've even deleted the entire ~/SDRTrunk directory between tests. Is there an option to have a debug log to file if that would help?

Lenovo m93p (i5-4570T), Win 10 Pro 22H2, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD
OpenJDK v18 b18+36-2087

I have two other PCs, including an identical setup though that one is running 0.5.0 b5 with two Nooelec NESDR sticks on a different tower from the same P25 system and it's rock solid so I'm hesitant to touch anything on it. Another is remote a few hours away running a single FlightAware Orange dongle on a P25 system, and again, rock solid for months on end.

My last few logs end like this, not sure if it'll help at all.

P25 system from Radio Reference tab imports as NBFM, not P25. Bug? Michigan MPSCS , Oceana County, Hart Tower.

I gave up on Windows, installed Ubuntu Desktop 22.04.01 LTS on the exact same hardware and 0.5.1b1 has been running fine for 48 hours on two busy P25 systems.

I gave up on windows too. I run sdrtrunk on Linux because its much more stable. I only use it on windows to modify playlist files. Because when i create a wildcard for all 65535 talkgroups, it'll freeze up when it takes forever to write.

What I can't figure out (and likely Denny as well) is the root cause of the issue. I have two literally identical Lenovo m93p setups and one is rock solid and the other barely works. I also have an underpowered laptop on another P25 system also on a FlightAware Orange stick and that's also solid!

Probably a Lenovo device driver issue - hard to tell from afar.  If indeed the two boxes are "identical," and one works and the other doesn't, I doubt it's an application software issue.  I'm running SDRT on an almost new Optiplex i7-12500T /W11 box with no issues except for a screen redraw bug that seems to have been corrected in the latest version.

RR is correct.  NBFM is the emission mode.  P25 Phase II is the protocol.

I just imported that site into 0.5.1 beta 1 and it correctly imported all 4 control channels as P25P1. If they're importing as NBFM for you, then something else is going on with your install. What release are you on?

NBFM is the emission mode for P25? Since when? That's completely incorrect. The mode is either C4FM or some derivative of QPSK (LSM, CQPSK, H-DQPSK, etc.). That site is correctly listed in the RRDB under a P25 trunked system, and in the site details it even notes CQPSK emissions.

You are conflating emission mode (AM, FM, SSB, etc.) with modulation protocol (DMR, P25, Tetra, Morse Code, etc.).  (The FCC has done the same thing in regulations.)

As far as any scanner or radio without an explicit digital "mode" setting, the transmissions are NBFM, modulated using P25, etc.

Except that in SDRTrunk parlance, "NBFM" has a very specific meaning and refers only to analog audio. This is not the place for semantics, context is very important given that we're in the SDRTrunk user group.

Yes, we are, but this thread began with an observation about the RRDB, which is not designed for SDRTrunk and therefore does not use the same lingo.
