LRRP, What is it?

So.. I am TOTALY new to what LRRP is. I vaugly understand it is Location Request Responce Protical. But here are my questions.

1) Can SDRTrunk follow and decode it?

2) Is this something fleet vehicles use to provode their locations?

3) What kind of thigs can I follow/scan monitoring LRRP assuming it can be decoded?

i think it was just added or worked on in git hub.  but yes when is a new compiled release coming out been about a year now.

1. sdrtrunk decodes LRRP packets from APCO25 and DMR radio networks.  I don't have the ICD/documentation for the protocol, so it's not complete and may not be accurate, and it's a work in progress as I continue to figure things out.

2. Yes, and it also enables a central operator to request locations from vehicles.

3. Vehicle locations.

How do I find LRRP signals?

 I can use Airspy and look if I new what I was looking for. I used to have DSD+ when I had my macbook but it doesnt run well on my windows machine so I removed it. But I did learn differances between signals like how Cap+ vs NXDN ect look and sound like so I can vaugely look at that if I new what range its normally in and what the signal looks like. Airspy shows the signal and I can hear it, but it doesn't provide any information on the signal like DSD+ does.

Not everyone uses LRRP. Some agencies do and others do not. In DSDPlus, if LRRP is detected, it is displayed in the window.  I am not sure how Sdrtrunk would display it. I do not seem to have any LRRP in my area but I have seen screenshots of DSDPlus from folks that listen to agencies that use it. 

Do you know if the agencies you listen to use LRRP?

I’ve had a bit of an unknown issue getting DSD+ running on my windows machine. ( ran good on old macbook ). But need to work on that to start searching for LRRP’s here in Seminole county Fl. Thanks again for your reply and info!
