Greetings
How do you create a talkgroup aliases? I have a P25 1 system that i want to make aliases for the talkgroups exampale

Hayward PD 1 = cb7 (hex)

when i enter the hex number into the SDRTrunk, it never shows up in "now playing". This talkgroup is very busy, so there is no reason for it not to show up  in "now playing" and "events"

Hi Vincent, you would enter the alias as 0CB7

P25 Talkgroups have 4 digits and radio IDs have 6 digits, when formatted as hexadecimal.  sdrtrunk requires the leading zeros to make the value either 4 or 6 characters long.

I was putting the zero at the end not in the beginning of the hex value.

Hi Denny,
Hope all is well. Since I moved, i haven't used SDRTrunk. I'm just starting to get back into SDRTrunk. Question, how do you set up a LTR system? Thanks in advance for you reply.
BTW, how is the DMR decoder project coming along?

Vincent

Hi Vincent,
You'll need to create a channel.  In the source tab, choose tuner and type in the LTR channel frequency.  In the decoder tab choose LTR-Standard.  Then hit Save and Start and it should start decoding.  You may have to adjust the PPM offset on your tuner to line up the frequency display with the visible signal in the waterfall

I am also having an issue with naming talkgroups. I am trying to monitor the City of Roseville, California's new P25 system. I am new to SDRTrunk but have been using Unitrunker before. I am getting the program to properly track and decode the audio for the system. That part is actually much easier than Unitrunker but I can't seem to figure out the aliasing stuff. Maybe someone can decipher what is wrong by looking at my "playlist_v2.xml"...

 <playlist>

<alias name="Fire Dispatch" group="Fire" color="-52429" iconName="Fire Truck" list="Roseville">

<id type="priority" priority="3"/>

<id type="talkgroupID" talkgroup="000065"/>

</alias>

<alias name="Police Dispatch" group="Police" color="-16776961" iconName="Police" list="Roseville">

<id type="priority" priority="1"/>

<id type="broadcastChannel"/>

<id type="talkgroupID" talkgroup="000001"/>

</alias>

<alias name="Police Detectives" group="Police" color="-16776961" iconName="Police" list="Roseville">

<id type="priority" priority="43"/>

<id type="talkgroupID" talkgroup="0005"/>

</alias>

<alias name="Police Tac" group="Police" color="-16776961" iconName="Police" list="Roseville">

<id type="priority" priority="40"/>

<id type="broadcastChannel"/>

<id type="talkgroupID" talkgroup="0007"/>

</alias>

<channel name="Roseville" enabled="true" site="Roseville" system="Roseville">

<alias_list_name>Roseville</alias_list_name>

<record_configuration/>

<event_log_configuration/>

<decode_configuration type="decodeConfigP25Phase1" traffic_channel_pool_size="2" modulation="C4FM" ignore_data_calls="false"/>

<source_configuration type="sourceConfigTuner" frequency="851575000" preferred_tuner="RTL2832 SDR/R820T 00000001" source_type="TUNER"/>

<aux_decode_configuration/>

</channel>
</playlist>

Of course... immediately after I post it, it all of a sudden starts to work.  Go figure.
