I have the entire Homegrown collection - unopened. Yes, there was a
Homegrown LP released in '83 with a tonearm on an LP. Prduced by Jim
McInnes and Scott Chatfield, this album (unlike all the other releases)
does not contain songs written about San Diego.

Bill Hergonson, or "Hergon" (aka "Cap'n Billy") as he was
affectionately known on the air, was the guy who started it all. He
came across a crappy little ditty called "Chula Vista" and played it on
KGB. They started getting requests...other local bands started
submitting their songs... they compiled the best of San Diego songs and
cut a record. The rest is history.
Cameron Crowe (writer, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Almost Famous)
wrote the liner notes on the back side of HomeGrown I.

He had it on eBay at one time but didn't get any bids.
