PROJECT MANAGER, Global Management Systems, Inc., Bethesda, Maryland, 10/93 to
Present

· Manage a multi-million dollar contract with the National Science Foundation
(NSF) which provides professional consulting services to design, implement,
manage and operate a Windows NT-based enterprise network. The network employs
Ethernet and FastEthernet cable segments, utilizes an FDDI backbone, and
consists of forty (40) Windows NT 3.51/4.0 file servers, over 1,600 Windows
3.x/95/NT Workstations and 250 Macintosh and UNIX workstations
· Manage a technical staff of six (6) highly skilled network engineers plus
sub-contractors and NSF staff to manage and operate the NSF network. Maintains
strategic relationships with major networking vendors.
· Collect and analyze network performance statistics; develop and implement
solutions to identified problems; provide recommendations for improving system
efficiency; and assist the NSF in developing short and long term network plans.
· Conduct technology assessment of current and emerging network technologies and
manage the development of prototypes for testing. The most recent major
initiative was an in-depth technology evaluation of Asynchronous Transfer Mode
(ATM) technology from different networking vendors and the establishment of an
ATM prototype to determine ATM's suitability for implementation at the NSF.
· Responsible for configuring, testing, documenting, and planning the
implementation of all new applications, operating systems, utilities, and
methodologies used in the expansion and maintenance of the NSF network and its
infrastructure.
· When required, assume the role of a Sr. System Engineer to support the NSF
network in its entirety and performs hardware/software installation,
configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
· Conduct project management briefings for the NSF management and GMSI
Executives to report on contract status, progress, accomplishments, and issues.
· Provide assistance to the Sales and Marketing division in developing new
business by reviewing and analyzing Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Statements
of Work (SOW) from prospective clients; providing relevant analyses and
recommendations; and generating business and technical responses to the RFPs and
SOWs.

Senior Network Analyst, United States Senate Computer Center, Washington, D.C.,
9/90 to 10/93

· Responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and support of over 200
Senate LANs running 3Com 3+Open LAN Manager file servers and various desktops
running MS-DOS, Windows, and Macintosh OS.
· Provided technical guidance and consultation services to Computer Center and
Senate staff as well as support contractors regarding various technical issues.
