each month. All discussion should take place in sdnet.config plus the
newsgroup in question.]

For your newsgroups file:
sdnet.resources.health Discussions related to San Diego Health Resources

sdnet.resources.health - proposed by: Henry Eisenson

On-Topic Articles can range from but not limited to:
+ Discussions related to San Diego Health Resource Issues.
+ Various opinions people have in repect to a given health provider in San
Diego.
+ Please note that sdnet.resources.health is NOT a place for a medical
diagnosis.

Off-Topic Articles and subjected to possible cancellation:
+ Spam (as defined by current usenet standards, see;
http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/tskirvin/faqs/spam.html)
+ Spam (as defined by sdnet.* policy) see;
http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~wk/sdnet/spamp.html
+ Binary/image files of any kind (as they do not belong in non-binary
newsgroups).
+ MIME/HTML posts, and in particular any posting using a content- encoding
other than 7bit, 8bit, or quoted-printable. Most users reading
Usenet do not use a Web browser, and HTML is difficult or impossible to
read to interpret the content. Some posters who post HTML also include a
plain-text version of the message. This is redundant and wasteful. HTML
also consumes much more bandwidth.
+ Make Money Fast (MMF) articles.
+ Cross posted articles outside of sdnet.*.
+ Commercial Advertisements not related to San Diego (Health Issues), i.e.
ads for adult porn web sites, personal items forsale, etc.

sdnet.resources.health, is a forum for discussion of LOCAL health
resources, including physicians, dentists, clinics, hospitals,
pharmacies, research programs, clinical trials, audiologists, health
insurance, legislation, etc. etc.

The participants will be those with an inquiry, problem, suggestion,
complaint, or ax to grind. The beneficiaries will be those who are
"shopping" for a health service and seek referrals, assistance, etc. The
group might also serve those groups conducting clinical trials, and
seeking participants from the community. It's possible that some
medically-oriented job opportunities, or medical professionals seeking
jobs, will also post on the proposed newsgroup.

Participants may occasionally post important news from the medical world
in general, though that is not the principle reason for the group. There
are already very competent and useful newsgroups focusing on conditions
and specific medical problems (alt.support.u-name-it), and plenty of
groups talking about various therapeutic approaches, both conventional
and "alternative" (misc.placebo-effect). This group will be
geographically focused upon San Diego County's Internet-savvy citizens,
and the local world of medical/dental resources.

The discussion group will try to restrict itself to a discussion of
_resources_, and not specific medical problems or diagnoses. Good-faith
information and referrals on physicians, health insurance, dentists,
hospitals, etc. would be useful to all of us.

If and when a group FAQ is written for sdnet.resources.health,
sdnet.resources.health will be subjected to the groups policies.

This charter permits the sdnet.* Usenet News Administrators to cancel any
article posted in the sdnet.resources.health newsgroup which does not have
particular relevance to the San Diego and surrounding areas, or is in
violation of a relevant sdnet.* charter. Any San Diego area resident may
send e-mail to the posters news administrators for sdnet.resources.health
charter violations.
