I'm thinking about getting @home again but this time I want to purchase my
own modemfor the $10 off. AT&T approves of the list below. I'm interested in
hearing some thoughts of which ones below would be the best bang for the
buck, and where to buy. I looked at Pricewatch but the pickings are very
slim. Also, I'm very interested in getting a USB Cable modem because I'm
out, or nearly out of IRQ's for a NIC. If I end up having to purchase a NIC,
which would you prefer in my situation. I have just a single 'puter at home,
nothing fancy that I need it for, just blazing speed that I once new, mainly
for online gaming. I can't have DSL where I'm at. Thanks!

DOCSIS cable modems all have comparable performance. Choose based on
type, price, warranty, etc.

Thinks John. I went with the 3com 29220 SKU 61572 Tailfin that
http://www.cable-modems.org/gallery/tailfin.htm recommended.. It's a really
neat looking modem and the lights are extra special and it has auto upgrade
of future DOCSIS upgrades. It also allows either USB or NIC connections.
Even makes a kewl little sound when you power it up.
