SD Jeepin' September Event: Back-to-the-Basics Trail Run

Whether you're brand new to the world of off-roading, or a seasoned
veteran, all of your skill and experience rests on the basics. This
run, we will focus on the foundation of off-roading - how to tackle
obstacles, how to approach a V-notch, how to hit an off-camber
situation with confidence, etc...

Pine Valley OHV area is a simple dirt road with challenges enough for
the beginner and the experienced alike. Overall, it would be
considered a Blue run on the common scale, with some side trails
pushing into the Black Diamond - we may take a small group up there
after lunch, if interested.

Speaking of lunch, there is a beautiful lake off the beaten path, so
bring a cooler with some drinks and sandwiches and we'll stop off to
eat together.

We will meet at the trail head at 8:30AM. While it is not required, we
suggest disconnecting your front sway-bars at the trail head. Board
Members will be on hand to lend assistance and tools for those
unfamiliar with this process, and will explain the reasoning behind it
as well. Airing-down of tires is not required for this trail, and
should only be done if you have a compressor to re-fill your tires, as
there are no local gas stations with suitable pumps.

The trail head is located south of Interstate 8 on Pine Valley Rd,
approximately 31 miles East of where I-8 and I-125 intersect. GPS
Coordinates are +32° 48' 58.17", -116° 31' 58.38" (32.816157,
-116.532884)

This should be a short day, getting us out of there by around 3:00pm
or so. If anyone wants to stay later, or leave early, the trails are
wide enough and easy enough to bail out on your own.

Please note that this is an area requiring an Adventure Pass to be
displayed on parked vehicles – if you plan on towing your rig, plan
accordingly.
