Hi!

I’ve used the laser about 4 times now. Someone suggested I use LightBurn.
I design in Adobe Illustrator can I send that artwork to LIghtburn and then into the laser at the shop?

I’ve had some issues loading my AI files onto the PC/laser at the shop. I’m not really sure what is going on. Obviously, I’m new to all of this.

Any advice is appreciated.

While I can't directly answer your question I can tell you how I approach problems like this.

I look at the target software( LightBurn ) and look at it's list of supported file formats for import.

Then I go to the source software( Adobe Illistrator ) and then look at its export capabilities.

Start with the first in the list of matching file formats and try them out one by one.  If you are familiar with standard file formats then start with the most commonly used for data exchange.

Janet,

With the latest release of LightBurn (0.8.02) I’d recommend using the .ai format.
Now the software will import BOTH vectors and embedded raster images.

If you have LightBurn questions then ask them here.
We have developed quite a bit of LightBurn expertise in the Shop.
Note: I’m not sure we’ve upgraded the Shop PC to 0.8.02 but we will do so soon.

Cheers, Travis
