Pavilion
Repair cost for approved materials is $300K+. City has no budget to cover it.
City suggested a possible tear-down and modest rebuild — details TBD.
Garden is open to interim fixes: better-secured tiles or alternative materials.
Next steps:
Corey to get alternative quotes · Talk to city about rebuild details · Kelton to explore company sponsorship
May 2 Workday — 9am
Wood chipper (donated from Deep Eddy Garden) — break down large debris
Pollinator gardens — weeding
Poison ivy removal — volunteers who aren't allergic preferred
Decomposed granite — finish reconditioning trails
Committee Updates
Finances:
Amplify funds earmarked for water tank repair. Final amount TBD next month.
Compost:
2 new bins built. Next: tear down old bins, move new ones into place, set up monthly turning schedule.
Outreach:
Follow and engage with the SDFCG Instagram. Share feedback on what you'd like to see posted.
Common areas:
4-day watering schedule in place for south pollinator plot. Apiary check-in in progress (Sam following up).
Shed:
Fire ant killer and 2 new wheelbarrow handle posts now in stock.
Maintenance:
Bench boards need repair — flagged for maintenance committee.
Opportunities & Announcements
Roots & Wings Festival
(Oct 18–Nov 2): Mini-grants up to $1,500 available. Application opens May 1. Post in Discord if you want to help organize.
Park Score advocacy:
All gardeners encouraged to contact city council members about park funding.
