Garden Announcements and Reminders: Meeting, Discord, and Upcoming Elections

Hi Gardeners, 

A few reminders and announcements as we start of the 2024/2025 garden season: 

Garden Meeting: Sat Sept 28, 10am at Garden Pavilion

We'll meet under the garden pavilion to discuss latest garden business and challenges and update everyone on the status of renewals. NOTE: Everyone who had completed a contract as of 9/22 should have received an invite. Calendar invite link. We will wait to vote on committee leadership positions until our Oct 19 meeting. See this doc for our 2024/2025 Meeting and Volunteer Day dates that will be going on our calendar. 

Move from Google Groups to Discord

We are preparing to move to use Discord (a modern online forum and messaging site/app). Thank you to the small group of gardeners that have been our early-adopter "beta" testers this week. Next week we'll send out invites to everyone along with more detailed instructions. If you'd like to join before then, email the garden admin address.

Welcome New Gardeners! 

We have approximately 8 plots that will have new gardeners in them this season. Welcome all! Please welcome these people if you see them and we'll get more info out to everyone after we've moved to Discord. 

Compost Purchase

Following our bi-annual cadence of purchasing organic compost with garden funds, we'll be moving forward with a purchase next week. This will be for everyone to share and amend their plots. 

Water Spigots and Shed

There have been a few reports of water being left on and the shed being open. Please help us by inspecting the garden when you visit to make sure the shed is locked before leaving and all water lines are turned off an not leaking.
