Updates from City and Austin Parks Foundation: Corey gave some updates on recent conversations with the city and APF:
PARD: Is going to be cleaning up some of the brush and overgrowth along the trail. Corey met with Suzannah DesRoches last week.
Learned that the drive is in fact city property.
Talked some about the status of the property that is up for sale along the drive.

Great chance to learn more about Austin Parks and other community gardens
There’s a Survey from Austin Parks that Gardeners are encouraged to fill out: https://forms.gle/imJh6RTghYgKBS3w5
Don’t worry about the Community Garden details, just fill out your interests and feedback.
We continue to advocate for a pathway to get the pavilion tiles replaced.
Finance Updates:
Corey gave an update on finances. We’ve paid most of our big expenses: gutter, trash removal etc.
Emily shared that her company is offering a grant for programs like community gardens.
Application is due by Earth Day
Contact her if you have ideas for projects or can help with the application process.
May Garden Plot Inspections
Set date for the inspection:
Sat May 10 Inspection Date
Plots that fail will have until June 7 to get back in good standing
One more reminder will be sent before April 26 to comply with the 2-week notice process for inspections.
Heads up to everyone: There will be a lot of grass and weeds growing between now and then. Stay on top of your plots!
Waiting List: Bob proposed that we change the waiting list process to periodically purge people who are on the list and make everyone re-apply.
This will make sure people are invested in the process and will save a ton of time on the administration side of things.
Discussed frequency and landed on 2X / year.
Voted and all gardeners approved unanimously
Corey added the following text to the current bylaws: “The waiting list will be purged twice a year to ensure that all individuals on the list still desire to be on the list. Waiting list individuals will be informed of this process and given two weeks to respond via email in order to remain on the list”
Billy announced that he and Athula are moving to NYC and this would be his last meeting. (We’ll miss you both!)
Agata will be taking over and they’ve already completed handoff
Another community garden has offered to donation the following composter: 4000-00-03 Composter - Mantis
Trash - furniture that has been collecting in the front - Caroline volunteered to pick this up with her truck and schedule a bulk pickup.
We also need to dispose of some of the trash bags and other trash. This can’t be disposed of in the bulk pickup.
Please make an effort to take trash with you when you can

We need a new volunteer to lead the South Pollinator plots!
Jeremy will get documentation for what’s planted in these beds.
North Pollinator Garden
Good workday last month, everything is in good shape
Avocado Trees - We got an offer to get some donated but we voted to turn these down.
Thanks to Randy for finishing the water collection system!
The Chicken Coop has 2 openings for new members: Sat and Thu - Email the Chicken Coop email if you would like more info about signing up.
Next Garden Meeting: Was scheduled for April 17

Gardeners will be encouraged to attend to do group work and socialize.
Corey will bring the weed wackers to this workday
Work Day: May 3 - This is the next scheduled one
Park Summit 2025: May 3: As mentioned above, consider if you can make this with Corey
