Reminders: Garden Meeting on Sat Feb 15, spring planting, final freeze

Hi Gardeners,

See below for a few important reminders that you might have missed on Discord. 

Garden Meeting Reminder: Sat Feb 15 10:00am at Sustainable Food Center

Reminder that our next garden meeting is THIS Sat at 10am. Click here for the invite link to add it to your calendar. The meeting is at the Sustainable Food Center Building to avoid the risk of cold/bad weather. This is the last meeting of this season that we have scheduled for that space. March typically is warming up enough that we can return to the pavilion. 

We'll share notes after the meeting for those that can't make it. 

Spring Planting 

We'll discuss spring planting season and determine if we want to purchase any supplies for all gardeners at the meeting. Now is when everyone should be getting plots geared up for your spring crops! 

Final Freeze Warnings

We're flirting with the (likely) final freeze warnings of the season. It's not getting low enough to require shutting off the water but watch the forecast to cover your plants, especially if you have new plants in the ground. 

Amplify Austin - March 6

Our draft fundraising page for Amplify Austin is live and accepting donations. Though the official fundraising day isn't until March 6, feel free to make your donations now and think about how you can help spread the word to raise funds. 

Next Volunteer Work Day - March 1 

The next gardner workday is March 1, 10am - 12pm (winter work hours). Click here for the calendar invite. Note, this is the same day as the Spring It's My Park Day. We are not an official site for the event but this is still a great way to get your 2 hours of required garden work in for the month.
