Welcome to February 2026!
Freeze Warnings Are Over
The water is back on. (Thanks to whoever turned it on this morning - remember when you do that to check all the spigots for leaks before leaving)
A few other notes:
The weather will not be below freezing for the next 10 days (at least) so everyone should remove their protective covering from your plants to allow them to get sun and prevent the material from breaking down or blowing away. It also keeps our garden looking maintained for visitors.
We have 1-week before our next quarterly plot inspections. We'll make note that there will be plants that will be frost damaged during the inspections but everyone should make an effort to clean up dead plants and material from plots soon. We may still get some freezes before the end of the freeze season (generally the end of Feb) but it's not too early to start planning for spring planting!
This means that next Saturday is your best chance to come out for the workday and work on your plots. Block your calendars now. The main goal of the workday will be to finish the PVC plumbing for the new spigot for the plots in Phase 5 (Old Teaching Garden) so these 5 plots can be assigned to new gardeners.
NOTE: These announcements were cross posted on Discord and are also available on your gardener dashboard at gardencommunities.org. The plot inspections will also be available on your dashboard after they are completed next week. Log in with your email to see the most up to date info about your plot, work hours, and resources.
