Upcoming Garden Events and Reminders

Hi Gardeners, Future Gardeners, and Volunteers:

It's definitely spring in Austin! The rain has made all the plants in our garden very happy (including some of the invasive ones) and I'm sure you're noticing that it's getting quite warm. Make sure you're getting out to weed and tend to your plot now, it will make it a lot easier later! A few other reminders:

• Garden Workday: Sat, May 2 9:00 – 11:00am - This is going to be an important workday to tame the weeds and grass. We'll have the weed wackers available. We also have a new chipper that was donated that we can test. We need help with a work day leader Can someone raise their hand to help coordinate?
• Austin Parks Summit - This is also on May 2. Corey will be attending but there are still some spots remaining if someone would like to join and learn more about how APF and our Parks.
• Next Garden Meeting: Sunday, May 17⋅5:00 – 6:00pm - NOTE This is a Sunday evening meeting. It was previously going to be online but we decided to make it in person and combine it with an invite for gardeners to join for a pot luck social and Sunday evening gathering. Invite others. Let us know if someone would like to help coordinate. We'll credit everyone who attends with 1 hour of work hours credited to your required hours
• May Garden Plot Inspection: According to our contract and bylaws, the next quarterly plot inspection should take place in May. We're announcing this for the weekend of May 23. We need a gardener volunteer to help with the inspection process. This is a great chance to help learn more about our garden plot standards and help upkeep the garden. Email the Garden Admin address if you can help.
