Hi St David's Foundation Community Gardeners:

We now have all the plots renewed and assigned for our 2025-2026 Garden Season. We have 15 plots with new gardeners so welcome to everyone who is new to the garden! I've posted some of this info on Discord but wanted to share here in case you haven't joined yet and so you can have it in one place.

Garden Calendar: Meetings and Workdays
Our calendar has been updated on the website and is available on Google Calendar and Luma (new this year). You can subscribe via iCal here and there's a Google doc of the key dates maintained in this doc
Required Work Hours
All gardeners are required to complete 2 hours of work (in addition to maintaining your plot) each month. Log your work hours in the Work Hours worksheet. Every 3 months you are allowed to pay a $10 fee in place of completing your hours.
Seed Swap and Compost
The garden has invested in purchasing seeds and compost for the fall planting season. Contact Katie if you'd like to get seeds before the garden meeting and couldn't make it to the garden this morning. Here is the doc summarizing what seeds we have purchased. Compost is available at the garden. Limit use to 2-3 wheelbarrows until we have confirmed that everyone has had a chance to get some.

Welcome and Help for New Gardeners
If you are a returning gardener, please help our new gardeners get settled. Many of the plots they are working in have been overgrown and need a lot of weeding. New Gardeners: Now is an important time to get a strong start. Ask questions and get out to the garden for a strong planting season. There are many resources shared on the News and Updates page on the Garden website. The Texas A&M Planting Guide is a great cheat sheet for what to plant.
  • Discord is our main forum for gardeners to get questions answered. Please post here before emailing the garden admin email address.
Everyone on this list has made a commitment to be a community gardener. This takes time and effort. The fall planting season can be the most rewarding time to garden in central Texas. We have a great community, please show how much you value it with the work you put into your plot and the Garden.

Thanks, Corey
