Here is the draft of the March newsletter.  The member profile is not done and some of the dates are wrong (because they have yet to be pinned down).  I also need to work on the graphic on the front page.  However, I did want to get the draft out to folks so that people can make any comments that need to be made. 

 

Remember, I really want you to be tough with your comments.  If you don't like it or you have changes then say so.

Hi all,

Ben, thanks for another lively and entertaining newsletter! I'm not sure if anyone else has commented, but my comments are attached (sorry 2 docs), the main points being the following:

I think the Convention party date is wrong. 4/28 is a Saturday so either it needs to say Saturday instead or Friday or 4/27 instead of 4/28.

 

Also, I still think it would be better not to have words break at the end of the line.

 

Lastly, I am working on the graffiti paintout but haven't yet confirmed a location so I'm hesitant to announce Northpark (though that is the goal). I think 10 or 11am is also more feasible than 8am! I am hoping to confirm in the next couple of days. When do you want to have finalized?

For the agenda, Patrick can we discuss survey results and therefore proposed goals for the year? I can speak with you about it ahead of time if you like.

 

As I've mentioned multiple times, I think scheduling some officers meetings for the next few months would be useful to keep everyone in the loop, especially about convention (and setting some goals/our year's agenda). Some people/officers are not available for meetings but should still be kept up to date.

 

Also, the graffiti paintout... I'm in touch with the ED of North Park's Renewal/Revitalization (etc.) non profit and we are trying to arrange to work with businesses to remove/paint over graffiti on March 10. You all better have your calendars marked! She will have some options to me by Monday, but they might include breaking up into smaller groups and going to different sites. I want to hear what people think of this (you all and members). If the groups aren't too small I think it could be good for bonding and then we could all arrange to meet up again at a bar or for lunch afterwards.

I agree with creating a schedule of officer meetings.  Just like everyone else my week gets so jammed up that last minute meetings will probably be out.
