Hi,
--
My configuration: PowerSDR + SDC (Audio +RigSync) + N1MM+.
--
I had the SDC well configured for CW and RTTY.
After approximately an idle fortnight,
I started the SDC tonight for a CW Contest and found out
that the SDC does not decode.
I think the SDC does not read the Flex’s frequency either.
For the comparison purposes, I started CW Skimmer,
and that works just fine.
My three questions then:
Since the situation seems pretty confusing to me,
Your kind suggestions are really welcome…
Thanks and Best regards,
Alec SP2EWQ

ALEC, for a skimmer, you need an IQ audio stream, and for the N1mm digital module, you need a normal audio stream. Simultaneous use of VAC for skimmer and N1mm will not work.
PowerSDR is already outdated architecture.

Hi Yuri,
My configuration: PowerSDR + SDC (Audio +RigSync) + N1MM+.
RTTY: offset in PowerSDR 1100Hz and Split Frequency in SDC -8900Hz
The above setup reads the RTTY signals in SDC, transfers spots data to N1MM+
and displays the data in N1MM+ Spectrum Window – a reliable service indeed.
However,
to use N1MM+ Digital Interface for a contest operation,
the audio stream must also be delivered to it. As the VAC has already been taken by the SDC,
we cannot assign it to perform simultaneously its task in N1MM+, can we?
My question:
Does SDC offer a way to split the audio, so that the same flow, beside the SDC Skimmer,
might be also delivered to N1MM+ Digital Interface, please?
In my configuration, I used RX1 for operating with N1MM+ and RX2 with its VAC for the SDC,
but I must admit it is a pretty awkward solution to the problem. Obviously, this solution
is not applicable in case there is no RX2 available.
I would really appreciate Your kind comment,
please…

Yuri,
Fantastic!! Great news - it did it!
I had to assign -9700 offset and radio, skimmer’s frequency and spectrum are well in match now.
I can also see SDC spots in the panadapter – really promising!!
The only thing left for now is to send the SDC spectrum and its spots into N1MM+.
BIG, big thanks for Your kind help..

Hi,
My setup: Flex-5000a (PowerSDR), RigSync, VAC, SKM Server.
Mode: CW - all seem to work well for me, except for:
The Audio spectrum displayed in the Skimmer window is offset -9700Hz
as referred to the frequency shown in the skimmer frequency scale (LO)
and the radio.
Where should I introduce the frequency correction so that the spectrum frequency
moves up and the Radio-LO frequency then match each other, please?
BTW: In the 'CW Skimmer' there is a parameter called Audio IF,
which serves the purpose, I think.
.
Your kind help will be really appreciated,
as I am absolutely confused at the moment...
Best regards,
Alec SP2EWQ

Hi,
My configuration: PowerSDR + SDC (Audio +RigSync) + N1MM+.
I finally figured out that to make the setup work, I need to load the SDC software first,
otherwise there is no way to make the SDC read the frequency and decode.
It means the proper configuration should read: SDC + PowerSDR + N1MM+.
So, my question:
Could You add an option to the SDC so that an operator can define the sequence
in which software should be started to make the whole thing work, please?
Additionally, it might make the users aware that the launching sequence is important.
