If I have F4 set to for 'MY CALL' in the contest QSO and F4 for '?' in the Macro screen, it appears I have to select the screen I want so SDC to knows which function set I am using.

Just to make it even more complicated CWX in SmartSDR could have a different setting for F4.

Is there an easier way to manage which CW function set is used without click a screen to make it the function set active ?

My opinion: CWX in SmartSDR are designed to work with a transceiver without a contest logger. In a contest, you should forget about CWX and use only the macros that are available in the logger program.

If you want to work with macro sets from different programs, you must switch the focus between programs yourself. This will only complicate the work.
