The new DAX driver introduced in version 4.2.18 affects the operation of the SDC-RIG Audio system. When SmartSDR-DAX was running, launching SDC caused the SDC program to crash.

Therefore, version SDC 19.0614 uses a new PortAudio library (portaudio_x64.dll), which does not support ASIO but does not cause SDC to crash on startup.

In my opinion, the WDM-KS audio system provides minimal latency for CW operation. However, users have the option of using a library that supports ASIO. The process is described in the manual under RIG Audio > ASIO > ASIO & SmartSDR 4.2.xx. However, you will have to stop running SmartSDR-DAX.

A minor issue has been discovered in the DAX component of SmartSDR version 4.2.20: when DAX is launched, the audio level transmitted via UDP to RIG Audio is reduced by approximately half. I will report this to FlexRadio. Therefore, if you are using the RIG Audio system, I do not recommend running SmartSDR DAX until this issue is resolved.

I never run SmartSDR-DAX and SmartSDR-CAT, since they aren't needed for SDC.
