For the CW operators among us:
I have a question regarding the configuration of the "squeezing" mode in the RIG Audio window.
Pressing both paddles (“squeezing”) automatically produces alternating dits and dahs. In Iambic A mode, the elements should stop as soon as the squeeze is released.
For me, this means that if I "squeeze" the letter A, no additional dot should be sent after the A itself.
I am simply accustomed to this mode, and it works well for me.
However, I cannot get this setting to work; an unwanted dot keeps appearing after the letter A. I have tried just about every possible combination in the "Breakin Key" windows, but nothing helps.
I also haven't found any information about this in the manual.
Who will help me.

I use mode A also but do not use the paddle when contesting with SDC . I will try it today and see if I get the same results .

Hi Cees
When you press the letter "A," the program must determine that it is indeed the letter "A" and not "R." The operator doesn't have time to release the dot key, so it is saved to be transmitted after the dash. The same applies to the letters "U" and "V."
SDC has developed four algorithms for paddle-key. You can find the description in the RIG Audio > CW > Paddle Algorithm section.
The "SDC A, B, C" and "Additional Mode C" algorithms include a function to correct this operator error this error. Here's how it works: after pressing the dash key after dot key, the program does not save the point's status for about 40 ms. If the key remains pressed after that time, the program will interpret this as the letter "R."

Hi Yuri and Andy,
As I mentioned before, no matter which setting I choose, the letter A always comes out as an A.
According to the manual, it should be possible to change this.
Could the issue be related to the Winkeyer USB that my key is connected to?

Now that I think about it again, it seems almost certain that the Winkeyer USB is the cause,
as it generates the algorithm itself. From experience, I know that switching from mode B to mode A (Winkeyer) can be a tricky issue in that regard.
I’m thinking of connecting the keyer to the key input on the FlexRadio instead.
I’d appreciate your thoughts on this line of reasoning.

If you are using RIG Audio, the paddle key can only be connected via a COM port or a MIDI device such as the HaliKey MIDI.

Yes, the keyer is connected via a com port.

Hi Andre,
I’m curious whether you’ve tried the Keyser option yet.
Do you also use the Winkeyer USB?
