How do i limit the time on spots?

In the manual there is a spotlife parameter in the telnet screen but I am not seeing that at the current version. My flex is full of spots I don't want. I am new to SDXC..

Also how can I filter? Do i need to my logging software (log4OM) and let it handle that before sending to my Flex?

The lifetime of spots can only be changed for SDC-Contest. In other cases, the lifetime of a spot is not adjustable and is 10 minutes.

Thanks. Regarding filtering, do i need to do that from my logging software ?

Only the logging program knows the type of spot (mult, dupe...) and can apply filters to the stream of spots and must have a subsystem for placing spots on the panorama. This is the most correct and accurate method. Many loggers do it this way.
But Your external logging program can use the UDP protocol offered by N1MM for coloring and filtering spots. For this purpose, SDC-Spot->Panorama has a UDP port for processing this protocol.

Hi Yuri,

I discovered the spot screens were hidden from view (I run 2 monitors + laptop screen).

I am now working through the SDC manual but struggling to see how best to setup SDC with smart SDR and LOG4OM

I use N1MM for contests and LOG4OM for general logging. N1MM feeds LOG4OM calls when active.
so, I want to NOW see SDC skimmer spots in LOGOM and see LOG4OM telnet spots in Smart SDR via SDC.

Am I thinking correctly that this is possible ? I am getting confused how to set this up as I have setup

Phil, I don't know the capabilities of the LOG4OM program. If this program cannot send spots to the panorama itself, it must support data transfer protocols to other programs that can send spots to the panorama.
SDC has two options for such programs:
1. The protocol proposed by N1MM. Does LOG4OM have this capability? See manual: Telnet Server-Spots->Panorama-N1MM Log.
2. The protocol proposed in the CWSkimmer program (SKIMMER/STATUS). Can LOG4OM respond to a received spot with a call sign status string?

SDC automatically detects log capabilities and enables callsign coloring on the transceiver panorama.

Does LOG4OM have at least one of these features?

Thanks Uri, I have spent alot of time on this today,  still have many questions but trying not to fill up the forum.

Why do I see 204 records in the telnet server summary box and pan adaptor but the telnet list isn't scrolling ?

Check the "Log" box for the spotters you want to observe.
