Yuri,

I work with two New QSO windows configuration:
one for 20m and the other for 15m.

When I want to TX with New QSO 2 aka, Slice B (15m),
Flex-6400 switches TX Slice back to 20m (slice A or QSO Window1)
even if I manually choose Slice B as my TX slice.

What is wrong,
please?

Best regards,
Alec

Are you working from spotlist?

Rich,

what else do You want me to check, please?
I am running two Slices to two SpotList windows.

However, the problem is switching back TX,
as the Skimmers and SpotLists are functioning as expected.

Best regards,
Alec

Are you sure you have each Spotlist bound to separate QSO window?  So Spotlist 1 is bound to QSO window 1 and Spotlist 2 is bound to QSO window 2?  If you are running a third spotlist make sure it is not bound to anything.

Are you running latest version?  I would install the most recent Test version. I have had no issues like you say.

Rich,

Yes, I use two SpotList windows assigned to each

of the two New QSO windows...

Best regards,

Alec

OK, thanks..
I had that setting exactly the way You show it in the print screen.

However,
I have found clicking in turns on the New Spot windows,
that switching the TX and making Slices active (yellow) is unstable.

Making the New QSO window active should be followed by
making the relevant Slice TX and active

Mostly, the relevant Slice gets active (yellow triangle),
but the TX is not activated (TX in both slices is greyed out),
and when I want to TX the previous Slice's TX gets active instead.

Scenarios differ,
but each scenario turning on an incorrect Slice to TX is VERY dangerous.

I think it is a bug,
it needs a closer look and thorough analysis of the programmers...

Best regards,
Alec

Yuri,

thanks, but by ...making the relevant Slice TX and active...
I mean switching from one New QSO window to the other
should also switch TX  to the new Slice and make it active ...

Best regards,
Alec

Alec, please describe in detail what you are not satisfied with?

Yuri,

Do not take me wrong. I am absolutely thrilled with SDC,
and grateful to You for putting unquestionably tremendous effort
in making it something that I love from its beginning..

However, during the today's EU PSK Contest, I experienced
some unpleasant surprises of which I wanted You to be aware of,
as they have been described in my bug report.

Eliminating possibility of those surprises to reappear
would make the QSO flow smoother and SDC better,
I believe...

Best regards,
Alec

Alec, that's unnecessary.
I didn't see an answer to the question:  Alec, please describe in detail what you are not satisfied with?

Yuri,

re: working in a DIGI contest in two New QSO windows configuration.

I must tell You, at some point today, I decided to clean re-install SDC
in order to exclude possible corruption from the previous SDC installations.
However, all problems continued all along.

1. Inefficiency of SDC's control Flex-6400 Slices while switching over between the New QSO windows.
After switching to the other New QSO window, there were numerous situations that  was left behind
in the previous Slice, or was not shown active in any of the Slices. There were also situations when
the new Slice was not activated  at all.

The above required a careful look into what happened in SmartSDR after the New QSO windows had been switched,
and in case of necessity to manually correct SmartSDR Slices statuses, so that making TXing with the proper Slice
    was possible.

2. RUN situations. Generally, leaving RUN pressed  in one New QSO window, while working QSOs
in the other sooner or later but ALWAYS meant trouble manifested in sudden whimsy CQ transmissions
in the previous New QSO window/Slice. It was not necessary to press any keys to trigger it.

I have found that releasing RUN button to S&P cured the situations. However, at the beginning I kept forgetting
that before switching over to the other New QSO window, I need to de-click that RUN button first.

3. The doubt in progress about grabbing the exchange no matter in which field cursor is located.
I have experienced in EU PSK Contest that if the cursor stayed in the CALL field, the exchange was NEVER grabbed.

So, it is so..

Best regards,
Alec

Alec, there are many stations in the SDC-Contest+Flex complex. I have not seen this myself, nor have I received such reports from anyone.
Please take a video.

Yuri.

I won't be able to film those phenomena
until I participate in another DIGI Contest..
But OK, I will remember about that.

Thank You...

Best regards,
Alec
