SDC V 18.031 contest CW cut short problem

Hey guys,

I wonder if someone can help me. I would like to use the contest module for the first time in WPX this weekend, so I'm trying to set it up, so far so good, however, I do have 1 problem.

When the CW is being sent, it's being cut of short. What I mean, instead of OM0RX it will transmit OM0R .. well, just half of the R and no X ... same with numbers and everything else, it just finishes too early. 

I can not find any settings or anything where can I modify this behavour.

I use ExpertSDR / SunSDR, it works well, she spots, windows ... everything ... just when sending cw it will cut it short.

Your help is greatly appreciated

Hi all,

After looking at all options I have found a fix which I would like to share with everyone just in case someone will experience the same problem as I had.

In TCI tab, there is option for CW Keying type. Originally I had there: Terminal. Well, this is a problem, the CW macro won't be sent in full and will be cut short. You have to change it to: Text 

Then the CW macros will be sent correctly. I'm attaching a screenshot. I'm so happy I have found this ... As the contesting module looks fantastic and actually it's quite fast.

HI Oliver.

I had a same problem and switching between the two seemed to help but I recall 'type ahead' feature does not work any longer if you select 'text'.

I have not tried the contest module in a while though.

The last version of ESDR3 where terminal mode worked normally was 0.11.1, or 0.12, I don't remember exactly. Then this method stopped working normally.

In the "Text" mode, entering a call sign during transmission does not work.

Everything should work correctly in RIG-Audio.

You can also enable "Advanced User" and select "Keyer" mode. For its normal operation it is necessary to bypass errors in ESDR3: disable BreakIn, adjust delays in CW.

There are similar problems in other transceivers.

I don't have ten more lives to wait for these bugs to be fixed, so have developed a RIG-Audio system that takes over the transmitting shaping completely.

Thank you Yuri.

I did not realize RIG-Audio feature is universal.  Somehow I thought
this was Flex only feature.  I will look into it more.

I can file a bug with EE regarding the keying but frankly I don't know
how to describe the issue.

I have briefly tried to configure Rig-audio for cw keying, but did not succeed… I have to look at the manual, will try tonight. Text keying works fine and to be honest I can see this as a great replacement to Rumlog Contest logging which I have used up until now.

I’m quite picky about the software as I always wants the best and I want the functionality I need with great UI and useability. SDC is fantastic, I still have not learned all the parts, but to be honest with you I would not have won all the contests without the ability to use SDC. Also, these days I use CW mode as my primary mode even though I can’t still copy CW by myself. Go figure … BTW, I have started to learn now, lol.
