Hello Everyone!
So I've been working on a draft of a media plan, I'll share the Googledoc in a few minutes. It's something that will have some basic guidelines for us so that we can have multiple people in control of our various sites while maintaining a unified voice.
The first part is general notes about our goals, expectations, etc. I'm not sure if many people have opinions about this yet, so we may eventually need to have a larger discussion about it. For right now, I suppose we're really just looking for big disconnects in our understanding of things.
The second part is more specifics about our platforms - beginning with Facebook and Twitter. Starting today I'm going to put up an article a day; there should be an ample supply of these if the discussion list remains as active as it's been. Since we can schedule FB posts in advance, I'd like to do about a week at a time. The current list of articles I have is below. I've also been making it a practice to "like" any pages that are mentioned in these articles to hopefully boost our presence. Feel free to suggest other pages for us to like, and I'll get on it.
I have a couple of questions about the Twitter account donation process that I'm looking into now, and think we might want to do that and supplement it with our own original tweets. I'll be tweeting in sync with the articles for now, but not a straight up repost.
My next question is about the calendar - it seems like there is one already on the Tumblr. Is this were the "main" calendar will be? I'd just like to know where to look to get definitive information to put up on the sites.
Lastly, what are we thinking in terms of quantifiable growth? 100 more FB fans per month? 100 more Twitter followers per month? I don't know what the expectations are and am curious.
Also, I've said it a couple of times in the Googledoc, but it's very important that we start getting about 5-10 pictures per event and action. They just need to be sent to me and I'll get them out on the social media.
Let me know what you think!
Christine
