Hello Amarkant,
I would like to respond to your email and place a few points on record for clarity and fairness.
This issue should be addressed to the Association as a whole, not directed at an individual member. Singling out one person creates unnecessary personal targeting and does not help resolve the matter constructively.
To begin with, may I ask a simple and relevant question: Have you personally consumed food from this vendor?
Please respond to this first, and I will address the rest of your concerns accordingly.
If any resident has actually found unhygienic food or a foreign object (such as a lizard), the affected resident should formally escalate the issue by email with evidence. Every resident has the right to do so, and that is the correct and effective process.
Raising concerns without the complainant coming forward, while positioning oneself as the spokesperson or “leader,” does not help the investigation. Issues should be escalated by the impacted residents themselves, not assumed or amplified by others.
The event concluded only last night. Expecting immediate action within hours, without giving the Association reasonable time to verify facts and engage the vendor, is neither practical nor fair.
You have yourself been part of the Association earlier. I would like to understand whether similar immediate actions were taken during your tenure in comparable situations, as consistency in expectations is important.
Please note that the Association does take resident safety and hygiene seriously. Once facts are verified and proper inputs are received from the affected parties, appropriate action will be taken and communicated transparently.

Hi Residents,
Firstly, thank you for the overwhelming participation for the Lohri celebrations in our society. It was heartening to see families and friends come together to celebrate the festival in true spirit—with music, dance, bonfire, food, and shared joy—keeping traditions alive.
We held a meeting with the Lohri Committee and the resident who raised the food safety concern via MyGate (where it was claimed that a lizard was found in an Amritsari Kulcha purchased from one of the flea market food stalls). Please find the MOM below, summarizing the discussion between the resident, Lohri Committee, and the Association.
As communicated earlier, the organizing committee committed to speaking with all concerned parties before issuing any clarification. We have now met both the resident and the vendor, and we would like to transparently share the facts as presented to us, without drawing any conclusions.
About the Vendor
· The food stall in question was operated by a licensed restaurant, not a street vendor.
· The restaurant has been operational for over six years, is registered with government authorities,
and follows prescribed food safety and hygiene standards.
· They operate a permanent kitchen that runs 365 days a year, with regular pest control measures.
· The vendor has previously set up stalls at our society on multiple occasions and has catered several society events.
· They also serve the surrounding area regularly and have positive public reviews.
· The committee included this vendor after due diligence and based on prior firsthand experience.
Details Shared by the Resident
· The resident reported that a lizard was found in the kulcha after consumption.
· The evidence available was a screenshot, not an original camera photograph with metadata. The resident informed us that the image was captured via the MyGate app, not the camera app.
· Payment for the food was reportedly made in cash, as UPI was not working, so no digital receipt was available.
· The resident purchased kulcha, chaap, paneer tikka, etc.
· The issue was noticed around 9:30–10:00 PM, and when the resident came down, the stall was no longer present.
Details Shared by the Vendor
· The vendor stated that such an incident has never occurred in their six years of operation.
· They reiterated that the presence of a lizard is extremely unlikely, given their kitchen hygiene practices and regular pest control.
· Due to heavy footfall during the event, some items (including aloo stuffing) were prepared fresh on the spot, which also caused some waiting time.
· As per the vendor, the stall wrapped up by around 11:00 PM.
· The vendor reported that the cash collected in general was quite low—around ₹2000+ for the day.
Committee’s Stand
· There is no conclusive evidence available that allows us to definitively establish what happened.
· As organizers, we are not in a position to assign blame or validate either claim.
· Our responsibility as a committee is to ensure that licensed and established vendors are engaged for such events—and that due diligence is performed. This was done in this case.
· During the event, food preparation was open and visible at the stalls, and no hygiene concerns were observed by the organizers on-site.
· The resident's health is fine, and no health issues have been reported by any other resident.
Going Forward
· We will continue to ensure that only licensed vendors are engaged for society events.
· We will further emphasize hygiene and food safety expectations with all vendors.
· We encourage residents to immediately report any concerns on the spot, so they can be addressed in real time.
We understand that food safety is a sensitive issue, and concerns raised by residents are important to us. We hope this clarification provides transparency and helps everyone make their own informed assessment based on the facts shared.
Thank you for your trust, cooperation, and for helping us maintain a respectful and balanced dialogue within the community.

Hi Partha,
I’ve gone through both your message and the President’s clarification carefully, and as a fellow Phase-3 resident, I think it’s important to address a few assumptions in your note that don’t fully align with what was actually communicated.
First, the President not stating that the resident was “at fault” does not imply that the allegation was accepted or validated. The message clearly states that there is no conclusive evidence available, and in such situations, neutrality is not optional, it is the only fair and responsible position.
Second, calling the allegation “false” and seeking punishment assumes that falsity and intent have already been established. They have not. Lack of proof cuts both ways , it neither proves the allegation nor proves malice. Without verified evidence, punitive action is simply not justified.
references to unrelated past allegations about a resident running a cooking business or waste disposal issues are not relevant to this incident unless there is documented proof and a direct connection. Bringing in unverified past claims weakens the argument rather than strengthening it.
The President’s note already highlights multiple gaps in the complaint : lack of original evidence, lack of receipts, delayed reporting, no health impact, and no corroboration while still stopping short of declaring anyone guilty. That balance is intentional and appropriate.
If you have additional concrete information such as verified proof of deliberate falsehood, evidence of intentional mass circulation, or any substantiated facts that were not shared earlier, it would be more constructive to place those on record rather than draw conclusions.
All of us want to protect Phase-3’s reputation, but that is best done through evidence-based discussion and restraint, not assumptions or accusations.
