Our Secretary resigned today, following the recent resignation of our Joint Secretary. To ensure the smooth functioning of Association activities, the Association opened nominations for a new Joint Secretary from among existing members.
Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj was the only member to express interest. Given his prior experience and active member of RWA, the Association has unanimously appointed him as Joint Secretary, effective immediately.
In this role, he will handle all routine correspondence, approvals, and coordination with residents and vendors, in consultation with the Association. Society-related communications via the Association email, MyGate, and WhatsApp channels will now be monitored by him for operational matters. For urgent concerns, you may also reach out via the Association’s official email ID.
Dear Mr. Subrahmanyam Chenugori (President),
I would like to formally record my strong objection to the manner in which the appointment of the Joint Secretary has been carried out and communicated to residents.
As per your message, it has been stated that Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj has been “unanimously appointed.” However, the position was never formally opened to all eligible members of the Association for nomination or expression of interest. Instead, the decision appears to have been taken internally among a limited group of office bearers.
Earlier, when one of the office bearers resigned, Mr. Krishna was considered since he was the only person who had shown interest. That situation was understandable. However, in the present case, following the resignation of the Secretary, no transparent process was initiated to invite interest from other members. The direct selection raises serious concerns regarding fairness, governance, and intent.
I had already highlighted similar apprehensions in my earlier email (attached again for your reference). The sequence of resignations and subsequent internal appointments gives an impression that these developments may not be merely incidental but part of a pre determined arrangement regarding who would step down and who would be positioned into key roles.
I also hope my earlier communication is reminded to all residents, where I had clearly stated:
"Dear Residents, please note my words — this may not be the last instance of such ‘backdoor entries.’ It seems likely that a few more positions could be filled in the same manner. If appointments are made through such non-transparent processes, then the entire purpose of conducting elections, including the time, effort, and cost involved, is defeated."
For the benefit of residents, I would also like to place certain facts on record regarding continuous holding of positions:
Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj – 2022 – Adhoc
Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj – 2023 – Part of Association
Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj – 2024 – Part of Association
Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj – 2025- Fought election (not elected )
Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj – 2026 – Part of Association (Office Bearer)
Mr. Krishna S. Varadharaj – 2026 – Appointed as Secretary
Dear Residents, I believe this information is sufficient for everyone to understand the pattern. It raises a genuine question — why do the same individuals repeatedly come back to occupy higher positions in the Association while at the same time describing it as a “thankless job”?
Ultimately, it is for the residents to reflect and decide whether such processes align with the principles of transparency and fair representation.

We followed the proper internal process, and only one person volunteered for the role. This eliminates any possibility of favoritism or discouraging others.
If you'd like details on the internal discussions, I suggest speaking directly with us.
As an association, we can't prevent any resident or MC member from volunteering for roles, nor can we limit how many times they contest or serve—it's entirely their individual choice.
You asked: "Why do the same individuals repeatedly come back to occupy higher positions in the Association while at the same time describing it as a 'thankless job'?"
This is the same question I raised before the election. As long as more residents (including you) voluntarily participate in elections or step up for association vacancies and join the association, the same people will continue to do so—it's not that they're doing anything wrong. There are no "high" or "low" positions here, we're not running a company—everyone has a role to play.
I'm curious: When the previous association participated repeatedly in elections and maintenance was ₹7 per sq ft last year, you had no concerns. Now, with us maintaining it at ₹5.8 per sq ft, suddenly you do.

Just trying to understand , who exactly is going on sabbatical, and who will be running the association in the meantime? Or is the entire association taking a collective break?
As far as residents know, in an association it’s usually either responsibility or resignation , sabbatical is quite a new concept. In fact, it already feels like the Secretary has been on sabbatical since day one.
Also, during this period, who will be the signing authority and who will take care of the day to day decisions?
Residents would certainly appreciate some clarity before the association disappears into this well-deserved “break.”
Regards,
Vipin
