Hello Association,

The concern of using the gym trainers for an hour or two or not to use at all is secondary.
Association can assess and take this decision and we would respect and abide by the decision taken in this regard, but everyone has the right to be heard and understood that how a decision will impact someone.

The first and foremost point to address is that how someone sitting at the President level in the Association behaves inappropriately with the residents. Does he have all the rights to talk in any inappropriate way and dictate things to the resident, without listening to their concern. Does he have all the rights to decide ways of working in the society and impose it on the residents. If yes, then we are in a very dangerous situation.

First of all, he was rude over the call. Then he emailed stating that thanks for misleading the other association members.

We have always respected everyone and abided by all the rules and regulations but taking someone's inappropriate language and emails stating that we are misleading the association against him is not something I will take and I want a serious action against this. I am not a person who play dirty games of misleading people and I will not compromise such comments from someone.

I asked him to listen to the concern and call a meeting to understand the concerns of the people requesting for trainers, to which he replied that if we need to talk anything then come to the AGM meeting and the decision is taken by the poll and it will not change.

To which I added that a poll cannot decide since most of the people do not even come to the gym who has opted against the trainers and it would be good if we can call everyone and have a joint meeting to get these issues addressed appropriately and then take the decision to which he denied.

I did mention that there have been others in the association like Prasath and Krishna who have been patient in the past in listening and addressing any issues and then he said that go to whoever but the decision will not change.

It is all upto the Association with regards to the decision they want to take with regards to gym usage and we respect other residents concern. But the misuse of position by someone is not something acceptable. All the residents have the right to be heard atleast.

We respect everyone and expect the same from others but if they cannot owing to their President level, then this is not acceptable since we are all part of a democratic country first of all where everyone needs to be heard before imposing any decisions.

Thank you
Neha

Further to this, the poll had been rolled out yesterday night and even waiting for polling the decision was implemented.

There should be proper meeting if we are planning something and some time should be given to implement it. So people can plan it appropriately.

When someone says, “a poll cannot decide since most of the people who do not even come to the gym have opted against the trainers,” I must respectfully disagree. It is not appropriate to suggest that members who do not use the gym lack a valid opinion. All residents who pay maintenance charges have an equal right to vote and be heard, regardless of how frequently they use the facilities. Whether or not someone chooses to use the gym or other amenities is a personal choice and should not affect their right to participate in important society decisions.

Jyothi

The whole point was to have a combined meeting and understand everyone's point of view and there is no harm in arriving at a consensus.

Nevertheless. I respect everyone's opinion and hence I mentioned that the decision which association will take will be respected but everyone should be heard.

This email is not to decide on the gym trainers issue, those pointers are mentioned to give the context as to why I have raised a concern on inappropriate behaviour. Cause whatever the issue be in the society, noone has the right to be disrespectful to the residents and impose their point of view without listening to all the residents.

The whole point here is to ensure that the people sitting in position are respectful to residents cause this is one concern today and tomorrow can be something else which is much bigger. But a person sitting at a position in Association must be respectful and hear everyone's opinion and cannot talk or email in a derogatory way.

Thank you

Also, I think a meeting has been set up by the Association on Saturday. We can close this loop here and can discuss further during the meeting.

I fully agree that the purpose of proposing a combined meeting was to ensure that everyone’s point of view is understood and considered.

At the same time, it’s equally important that every resident’s voice is heard. Some residents were unable to attend the meeting due to their personal schedules on that day, so a poll was suggested to allow those who could not be present in person to still participate and share their opinion. Everyone has an equal right to express their views on society matters, and no resident should be disrespected for sharing their perspective or for participating in the poll.

I would respectfully request that we avoid using statements(To which I added that a poll cannot decide since most of the people do not even come to the gym who has opted against the trainers ) that may sound dismissive or disrespectful toward residents who were unable to attend or expressed their opinions through the poll, as respectful and inclusive dialogue helps us build a stronger and more cooperative community.

Yes agreed and point noted. I would never intent to disrespect any resident in any manner since my whole email is intended towards disrespectful conduct.

My point of stating that was to ensure that we should not just go by the poll but at the same time have the meeting to discuss and arrive at consensus.
This point came up as a response to the denial to the meeting request and clear statement that a decision is made. To which I had to reply that we cannot just arrive at a decision and we also have the rights to be heard.

Nevertheless point taken and as I said any decision by the Association is valued and the main intent of this email is to ensure appropriate behaviour by the President and nothing else.

Neha

Also, I just want to highlight that the intent of this email is to bring up the behaviour of the President when we tried to speak to him as a resident and I have put in the rest of the conversation as a reference to provide a context.

This time it is this issue and we are being spoken to in a disrespectful manner and email remarks are also not good from his end where he is stating that I am trying to mislead the association.

Hence the entire email is to bring this to attention that people sitting at President position are not supposed to behave in a derogatory manner whatever the issue is and we have never faced this earlier with any member of the Association over the years.

This is the first time and it is important to get this addressed otherwise we as residents will be taken for granted for any thing coming forward. We live in a democratic country and I do not allow anyone at any position in the Association be it the President to disrespect me.

The whole email is intended towards that and not to allow or not to allow the trainers. This is completely association decision and will be valued but we as residents must not be disrespected,.that is the intent and subject line of my email to be clear and avoid any confusion.

I hope it does not give any other message and there is absolutely no intent to disrespect any resident here since we all are residents and have equal rights and noone can disrespect any one.

Regards
Neha

The concern raised about the poll was not meant to dismiss anyone’s right to express their opinion. It was only to highlight that this particular decision directly impacts a specific group of residents those who actively use the gym and rely on trainer support. When a majority of votes come from residents who do not use the facility regularly, the outcome may not fully reflect the practical challenges faced by regular users.

Everyone absolutely has the right to participate in society matters, whether through meetings or polls. The intention is not to disrespect anyone’s voice, but to ensure that decisions affecting day-to-day usage of a specific facility are made with proper consideration of those who are directly impacted.

Perhaps we can find a balanced approach  one that respects inclusive participation while also giving due weight to the concerns of regular users. That way, we maintain both fairness and practicality, and continue to build a cooperative and understanding community.

Neha, you point is well taken and as association we shall look into this with utmost priority. We all have been living in this society for more than 4 years and respect has been the core. The same is the motto of current association as well.

It’s always fair to listen to both parties with neutrality so we shall for a committee who will look into this matter and submit a report by end of this week.

Please let us know if you are ok with this.

All, let’s stop this thread as of now as this will create more friction among neighbours.

Everyone has equal rights to express their views and opinions but that doesn't mean decisions are taken overnight through polls which impacts the residents who have already-planned a months training schedule . How this will be a fair decision to these set of residents who also pay maintainence .

Collaboratively a workable solution to be implemented considering everyones opinions so that this way we maintain a healthy and cooperative environment while adhereing the norms of the society .

A very humble request to association is to take genuine factors into consideration to do justice . i understand voicing out opinion is everybody's right but that should not impact to those residents who are regulars.

Thanks

Hi Prasath,

Sure appreciate all your help here and have complete faith in the Association that they will not let anyone's respect be let down. The only concern I had is a request to talk respectfully whatever the message is and convey in an appropriate manner.

The users of the gym may have certain practical concerns that deserve to be discussed with the Association. The Association can review these concerns and respond appropriately based on the circumstances.

The poll was conducted at the Association’s request, and those residents merely exercised their right to participate.

Choosing to use the gym or any other amenity is a personal decision. However, all residents who contribute maintenance charges have an equal right to vote and to have their views considered, regardless of how frequently they use particular facilities.

At the same time, no inappropriate or disrespectful remarks should be made about residents who took part in the poll and voted against the proposal. In particular, suggesting that the poll outcome is invalid because some residents do not regularly use the gym may appear dismissive of their legitimate right to vote and express their opinion.

Please give due weight to this request and refrain from making any inappropriate or disrespectful remarks about residents who participated in the poll.

-Thanks,
Jyothi

Hello Association members,

Thank you for your time today to understand the concern and acknowledge it.

We have reached to an understanding and no one's intent was wrong here, I want to close this loop here and do not want anyone to misinterpret the situation. We have discussed the situation with the President and Association openly and the issue is absolutely resolved and there are no more misunderstandings or concerns.

Request everyone to not misinterpret the situation and to consider this closed.

Thank you
